I've been wearing glasses since I was in primary school, so I have seen quite a few different opticians all over the country, both small independent opticians and large chains.

My whole experience at SpecSavers was fantastic. I got an appointment next day (a Saturday) which is hard to do. I got seen straight away, there was no waiting. The test was cheap (only a tenner), and the glasses were cheap. They display all inclusive prices including lenses so you know what you're paying for.

The glasses turned up on the Tuesday after the Saturday appointment, and that included extra time as they have special thin lenses which take longer. I also got some contact lenses at the same time, as they are substantially cheaper than elsewhere.

All in all it was a fantastic experience (well, as good as going to an opticians can be!).
