BAD EXPERIENCE AT SPECSAVERS!! FOLLOWED BY GOOD LOCAL EXPERIENCE (Specsavers Opticians)

I recently had an eye test at my local Opticians. They were very helpful, but when I came to choose glasses I thought they were very expensive. I told them I wanted to shop around. I returned to them again to confirm the prices and again they were very helpful. I eventually managed to get around to shopping around!! I went into Maidstone and went to about five different Opticians, in every single one I was ignored!! No-one came to speak to me or help me. When I went into Specsavers I had to goto the desk to get someone to help me, which they did, only they didn't seem to know much but to direct me to the most expensive glasses. When I asked them about my lenses I commented that I had been recommended Zeiss lenses and was told "I dont know why you need something that expensive!!" At this point I left! I also went to Boots, the service was slightly better, they quoted me £175 for my lenses matching the Zeiss lens! I promptly left.

I returned to my local Opticians where again I was greeted when I walked in, I saw my Optician who recognised me and said Hello. He came over and helped me to choose a frame, he passed me over to one of his colleagues another Optician who took the measurements. I was then asked if I would like to wait for my spectacles!! One cup of coffee a read of a magazine later (about 30 mins) and my glasses were ready.

OK So I was a little suspect, I had decided to go for the Zeiss lenses which were £75!!!! £100 cheaper than Boots!! I was then handed a guarantee card and shown the marking on the lens which guaranteed they were the genuine product.

This is one of the best experiences I have ever had!! It was nice to be treated personally I would have no problems in recommending my local Opticians, I also have to say its beautifully decorated too!! One of the most modern Opticians I have ever seen - and a playstation for my son!!!!
