Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Bad lenses, Bad customer relations

I've worn contact lenses since the age of 15, and I can safely say none of them have been as bad as the ones I've been given recently by SpecSavers. They're too weak compared to my old lenses, cause my eyes to feel tired prematurely, make them feel sore, and they tear far too easily. Take my advice; don't bother with this money grabbing comglomerate - go to a nice friendly local optician. I am. Tomorrow.

[Next day] Well - I went back to Specsavers today, and have been given some different contacts. 62% water instead of 55%. They're just as bad. When I asked the optician if he could supply me with my old 80% water Acuvue lenses, he said they were too expensive for Specsavers. Kind of sums them up, really. Cheap crap. Definitely worth spending a couple of extra pounds a month, and actually being able to see!

Sorry about the rating, but did not feel there was much about SpecSavers itself in your review just how you feel about them.

I just used specsavers for the 1st time, and i can safely say i SHOULDNT have gone to specsavers. The glasses were so expensive compared to my local optician, and didnt have any really decent glasses there that i wanted. also, even though they have like 30 people working there at any one time, the customer service is shit, and i had to wait for an hour just to pick up a pair of glasses! my local place has 3 people, the receptionist, the technician and of course the optician, and i get them straight away, they look good, and theyre cheaper and friendly. steer clear of specsavers! Andy.

Welcome to dooyoo. Since I had a poor experience with one of these chains I go to a good local optician who is no more expensive and takes no longer to supply my specs. A friend of mine left one of these shops after being shown on her first day how to advise customers despite the fact she had no qualifications to do so. Have a read around and enjoy the site.
