Premium Review Specsavers Opticians: Shouldn't have gone to Specsavers (615 words)
by - written on 19/11/09 (Very useful, 40 readings)
Rating:

I have been a customer of Specsavers for a couple of years now and certainly wish that I had stayed with the local independent optician. Specsavers opticians can be found on many high streets up and down the country and retail glasses for the whole family. Ladies, designer, mens and smaller frames for the kids. In my local ...  Read the complete review

went leicester branch of specsavers, had eye test, with no deteriation in sight, was told no change on prescription, all seemed ok until I picked up second pair, they immediately seemed out of focus, I said I would try them for 2 days , they were the same so I went back and was told my previous glasses were set out of axis by 20%.. I told the assistant this just wasn't true, I have had the same prescription for a number of years and never have I had them so out of alignment as this second pair, they have booked me in for a second eyetest, (first pair was original lenses with different frames) assistant seemed to insist that D&A were at fault (my last supplier) I told them I would have a second optician look at them if necessary, I am waiting for my next test now

AVOID SPECSAVERS AT ALL COSTS !
Their eye tests are appalling, I was more than a bit concerned after
having mine, as it was conducted so poorly.
I then had further tests at D&A, and vision express within 2 weeks of
the specsavers test, and the results were clear.
D&A, and vision express, results were similar, and completely different from specsavers !
I will never ever walk through their doors again

When choosing an optician the first thing I do will be to visit several around the town centre and simply look at the range of frame styles on display. I have over the years had my glasses bought for me by my parents, been a poor student choosing styles, had a little money to treat myself, and been unemployed and counting those ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Specsavers Opticians: But I did go to Specsavers! (466 words)

My visit to the opticians I was long overdue - I had not even been wearing the last pair when I really should have - so thought I would pop in my local Specsavers to see what they had on offer. I was amazed at the wide range of glasses they had to offer and the promotions made their glasses really good value compared to their competitors like ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Specsavers Opticians
by A disillusioned customer - written on 20/10/09
Rating:

I have recieved excellent service from Specsavers for twenty-five years. What I did not realise is when you deal with Specsavers you actually dealing with individual opticiians and it their directors, whodictate standards. I made a mistake of going to different Specavers expecting a similar quality of sevice. It did not happen!

The optician initially made mistake with my precription so the glasses had to be changed. I then discovered that I had been supplied simple glasses as opposed to bifocals.

The manager insisted it was my fault. How anyone can walk into an optician and end up with the wrong type of glass is beyond my comprehension. She had no concern and certainly notapology. I would have better off going to the cheap opticians on the other side of the road.

Thankfully, Tesco is expanding its store so and hopefully they will have an opticians there!

I have been wearing glasses for about 15 years now, since I was still at Primary school, and it took me quite a few tries to find an optician I like after my original optician moved; enter Specsavers. Everytime I have been so far, I have always had the same optician, which is good. She carries out a very thorough examination of my eyes and has a ...  Read the complete review

I first joined Specsavers about 3 years ago because my eyesight had been deteriorating for a while and I got hit by a car because I had not seen it coming. I opted for an eye test and a contact lens fitting, the eye test was free on the NHS and the contact lens fitting was £20 with a free pair of contact lenses - because I walked out ...  Read the complete review

I have worn glasses since I was at school as I am short sighted and had always hated wearing them. I went through a stage a few years back when I tried contact lenses but found my near sight was pretty bad with the lenses in so went back to specs again. The styles at my local opticians were boring and really expensive. Then Specsavers came to ...  Read the complete review

After putting up with head aches on an almost daily basis and being knackered at the end of the day I decided recently it was time to get my eyes tested. I work in an office and stare a pc screen for the most part of the day so I put two and two together and guessed my job wasn't doing my eye health much good. An eye test revealed that ...  Read the complete review

I have been a Spec Savers customer for about 8 years and I went elsewhere only once and ended up going back to them for various reasons. The biggest one is because of the price. Now I've been with Specsavers for years at my previous address, and all has been fine ordering contact lenses through them and never having to visit a branch. That time again for an bi-annual eye test. A new branch of Specsavers has just opened in my town, a special offer inticed me in. I had my eyes tested for the second time at Specsavers a couple of months ago now. Again I was impressed with the actual eye-sight test. The optician (or whatever they call themselves these days!) tested me on various pieces of equipment which seemed almost space age in comparision to the eye-tests of my younger days (how OLD does that make me ...  Read the complete review
