It can be tricky to rate a service rather than a product - as a service can vary due to particular experiences, whereas unless something has gone badly wrong a product remains the same! I have been going to Specsavers for over 14 years - and the only bad experience I had was at my most recent visit. It didn't put me off using ...  Read the complete review

Should have gone to Specsavers! (383 words)

As I'm in my forties and work in front of a screen all day and a lot at night I thought it was sensible to get an eye test done. The last time I had one was when I was at school. As Specsavers had advertised a lot on the radio and TV I thought I'd give them a go. They had a local shop and when I rang them they could arrange a ...  Read the complete review

Specsavers Opticians: Rather inconsistent and annoying (209 words)

I will admit that I am not the world's greatest fan of going to the doctors, dentists or opticians, but when I do need to go, I look for someone who will make me feel comfortable, relaxed and in safe hands. I had used Specsavers as a child, when my mother took me there, and had several years of being rushed through the examination ...  Read the complete review

Up until last year I had never been to have an eye test, but I was regularly straining my eyes when using my computer, so thought it best to go. I had heard stories from friends who had waited ages to get a slot with an optician, but having a Specsavers in my city centre, I went alone and was surprised to get an appointment the following ...  Read the complete review

Up till 2 years ago I thought my eyesight was fine . Then one day I notice road signs becoming a little fuzzy , squinting to read the text on the tv 6' away ( 32" tv at that ) and the headaches oh my word not to mention stars in my vision . Even when I closed my eyes the stars would still flash about driving me crazy .. So after 30 ...  Read the complete review

I have worn glasses all my life, my mum even had to tie a ribbon onto the glasses to keep them on my face. So obviously I have been to many opticians during my 40+ years, never been to a chemist that just doesn't work for me, I do know and understand that they are trained(probably better than the Motherwell Specsavers lot) so my story ...  Read the complete review

NB: This review is about Specsavers and their Contact Lenses, not the Spectacle and Eyetest Departments. I have been a customer of SpecSavers for at least 12 years now. I've had to wear glasses my whole life, and only have sight in one eye. For a very long time, I was never allowed to wear contacts lenses. I was advised that ...  Read the complete review

Specsavers - best sight on the high street (464 words)

I started wearing glasses when I was 11, it was a bit of a shock going from being able to see perfectly to everything becoming blurry. I have worn glasses ever since and gone through all the different stages - getting the right prescription, continually testing as I grew up, not wanting to wear them because they made me look like a ...  Read the complete review

great service from Richard (242 words)

We recently visited specsavers in Shrewsbury and cannot thank Richard enough for his help in selecting the right spectacles for me. I am petite and most looked too wide and square shapes just did not look right. Richard spent a long time with me and even went to see what else was in the stockroom and nothing was too much trouble. I hadn't had an eye test for around ten years so decided it was time to check up on things. Having booked an appointment, the waiting time was around three to four days for a routine check up. Sight testing. (633 words)

I have always had perfect vision.....until the past 4 months where I've noticed that my sight when driving or reading words on the TV screen are starting to get blurry. I decided to get my eyes tested because of this - and to be honest I was a little nervous because I wasn't really aware of what would happen during an eye test, not to ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Specsavers Opticians

Spec savers staff has obviously been trained with the same auto suggestion techniques, they can hold your shoulders as they say follow me which suggests that your sight has just hit rock bottom and thank goodness we are here to help. Then they smile ever so politely as they fleece every penny possible. The overall quality of the service is what appears to be professional, but the end product is not value for money. I actually got better reading glasses from poundland. It is tempting to recommend that "patients" go for a test and then select their prescriptions from poundland. Only an average saving of £79. Eye testing is important as the tests can show up a few medical problems. Tests are free, you take the advantage, instead of Specsavers.

After my initial attempt at taylor made varifocals recommended by Helen from the Glasgow Argyle st branch; failed, I asked for reading glasses, a few days later picked them up, surprise, surprise the lenses on both pair were useless, it was only possible to read anything if there was a precise distance, 20mm either way and the vision was ...  Read the complete review
