In fact I feel quite wide awake and alert. Quite full of energy. I also suffer from appalling breast tendernes for most of the month before my periods so I am hoping that this will help with these problems too. I don't think it is physcological, because I had almost forgotten I was taking them when I noticed the improvement in my metablolism. These tablet...more

Premium Review Starflower Oil: Noticeable Energy boost in 5 days (181 words)
by - written on 11/11/09 (Useful, 21 readings)
Rating:

I have just started taking this in the 1000 mg form 6 days ago with 2600mg of evening primrose oil. Since having Swine Flu in July I have been having terrible difficulty keeping awake at work in the mornings (I am 44 far too young to be having these problems) and have generally felt under the weather. I started taking these on Friday and for the last two days at work (today being Wednesday) I have not nodded off in front of my computer screen. In fact I feel quite wide awake and alert. Quite full of energy. I also suffer from appalling breast tendernes for most of the month before my periods so I am hoping that this will help with these problems too. Express Review on Starflower Oil

A few years ago i was attending the hospital for a breast lump i had discovered, i was in quite a bit of pain with this. After alot of investigation it was confirmed that the lump was not cancer but was tissue that was affected by my hormones, the consultant suggested i try taking 1000mg of starflower oil. The affect was amazing by the end of three months the breast had no pain at all and what was even better was that my periods where lighter and less painful,a big plus as i had always had heavy periods that lasted a week. I have been taking starflower now for 7 years it truly is great, and yes it can be expensive but it's worth every penny

Premium Review Starflower Oil: My Shining Star...flower (432 words)

Rating:

I first started to take Starflower oil after a recommendation from my sister, who in turn had been recommended it by her dermatologist. She suffers from severe eczema and she swears by it, but Starflower oil also has many other uses. It is very similar to Evening Primrose oil in that it contains GLA (Gamma Linolenic acid), an essential fatty acid that is naturally produced by the body. Many people have inadequate levels of essential fatty acids, reasons for this include the increased consumption of processed foods, glucose intolerance and ageing. Starflower oil is roughly twice as strong as Evening Primrose oil meaning you can take a smaller dose. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review What a star! (505 words)

Rating:

1000mg of Starflower oil (borage oil) capsules provide 240mg of gamma linoleic acid (GLA) in combination with 378mg linoleic acid. You get them in capsules and they don't taste of anything. I am not an expert, but GLA helps our female hormones, which may not be working properly due to caffeine, alcohol, stress, lack of sleep, and poor diet. When our hormones don't function at their best we may have bad skin, irregular and painful periods, PMT, lethargy, headaches, and sometimes joint stiffness and dull, lifeless hair (ooo, I sound like an advert for L'Oreal!) GLA, also found in evening primrose oil in smaller quantities, is the active ...  Read the complete review
