It was a strange experience at first. I grew up in Germany where we have proper eye doctors we consult for eye tests. He or she in return writes out the prescription and we then go and buy our glasses at opticians. These opticians are allowed to do eye tests but I don't think there are that many people who actually go there in the first place when something is wrong with their eyes. I take fairly good care of my eyes. I spend a lot of time in front of the computer and despite my flat screen that alleviates glare I still go and have my eyes checked regularly. ~~~~A bit about me~~~ This being a review about a personal health care service, I think it a bit fair to share what my needs are and why I am using such a service! I was born with a double astigmatism. This was perfectly balanced, giving me no distortion of vision until I was 5 years old, at which time I suffered a sudden devastating change to my vision. I caught the chicken pox, and was duly kept in a darkened room without TV so as to not strain the eye muscles, as advised by the doctor, but unfortunately, it was no use. I decided after not being able to read the questions on TV shows such as Millionaire etc that it was about time I went and got my eyes tested again. I usually find this to be quite a daunting task as you have to pay £13 to be sat in a room and bright lights being shone in your eyes, whilst wearing some 15th Century contraption! Well, I have visited quite a few opticians over the years and so I thought I'd try the concept of "glasses in an hour" so I went along to Vision Express in Stirling.
