It was a strange experience at first. I grew up in Germany where we have proper eye doctors we consult for eye tests. He or she in return writes out the prescription and we then go and buy our glasses at opticians. These opticians are allowed to do eye tests but I don't think there are that many people who actually go there in the first place when something is wrong with their eyes. I take fairly good care of my eyes. I spend a lot of time in front of the computer and despite my flat screen that alleviates glare I still go and have my eyes checked regularly. I have used Vision Express for at least 10 years, first the Harrow branch, then later the ... Read the complete review

I have recently visited Vision Express, after a break of 9 years from wearing glasses, and a break of 3 years of visiting an optician. I have visited opticians for the last 16 years and have visited various opticians in this time. When I first walked in I was greeted and shown through to a side room for a pre test, here I was asked a few questions; Do you currently wear glasses? What do you/should you use your glasses for? Do you drive? And finally have you ever thought about wearing contact lenses? The next part of my visit was with the optician! Again I was asked the same questions I had just been asked in the pre test, which I replied to again - I'm ... Read the complete review

Following a dropped-spectacles-in-the-bath disaster I was left effectively blind as bat, but one emergency visit to the 'one hour serivce' opticians Vision Express later, I was the proud possessor of a new pair of rather snazzy glasses. Having turned up at their Cribbs Causeway Bristol branch wearing the old, broken pair fetchingly stuck together with sellotape, I was given a high-tech eye-test on the spot (this included an eye health exam, the results of which were most reassuring to me as for many years I used to wear contact lenses), was given very good advice on choosing 'the right style of frames for my face', and then after being sent away for an hour or so came ... Vision Express I have needed glasses since I was 16 and in that space of time I have tried a number of opticians. When I first moved to England in 1998 I decided to try out contact lenses. I asked around a few places and vision express appeared to have the best deal so I decided to give them a try and I have been with them ever since. Who are vision express? Vision Express is a chain of optician in the UK. The company began in 1988 in quickly expanded throughout the UK. There are now over 200 vision express stores in the UK. The main selling point of vision express is their ability to provide made to order glasses in one hour. ... Read the complete review

A recent deterioration in my eyesight prompted a visit to the opticians. As I hadn't been for an eye test for a few years, I did a little online research to discover which company was offering the most competitive deals with regards to eye testing and prescription glasses. I eventually chose Vision Express because they were offering half price eye tests if you booked your appointment online - the full price is £22. The booking process was relatively straightforward. All you have to do is go to their website, fill in your personal details, choose a branch you want to visit, then select three convenient dates for the test and finally press the submit button. ...
