Vision Express is one of the four major UK opticians; it controls a large percentage of the British market for glasses and contact lenses. The company's selling point is the availability of glasses in 1 hour at many stores. What to expect I phone to make an appointment. On arrival I go to the eye test desk (in my store it's ... I went to Vision Express in Silverburn in Glasgow and it was a car crash from begining to end. unhelpful staff who are obviously new or untrained or more likely unintrested. My eye test although I suppose satisfactory was over in less than ten minutes and the opticians manner was less than friendly. To cut along story short I stupidly purchased spectacles from them, waited weeks for them and then another week after they changed them each time they discovered they were wrong. In contrast 100 yards down the shopping mall with my refund from Vision Express I got a 30 minute eye test and new spectacles from Optical Express and got them in an hour and cost £90 less. There is no doubt to who I will be seeing for my next check up. BE WARNED AVOID VISION EXPRESS SILVERBURN!

I have recently visited Vision Express, after a break of 9 years from wearing glasses, and a break of 3 years of visiting an optician. I have visited opticians for the last 16 years and have visited various opticians in this time. When I first walked in I was greeted and shown through to a side room for a pre test, here I was asked a few ... Read the complete review

Following a dropped-spectacles-in-the-bath disaster I was left effectively blind as bat, but one emergency visit to the 'one hour serivce' opticians Vision Express later, I was the proud possessor of a new pair of rather snazzy glasses. Having turned up at their Cribbs Causeway Bristol branch wearing the old, broken pair fetchingly stuck together ... Read the complete review

Vision Express I have needed glasses since I was 16 and in that space of time I have tried a number of opticians. When I first moved to England in 1998 I decided to try out contact lenses. I asked around a few places and vision express appeared to have the best deal so I decided to give them a try and I have been with them ever ... Read the complete review

A recent deterioration in my eyesight prompted a visit to the opticians. As I hadn't been for an eye test for a few years, I did a little online research to discover which company was offering the most competitive deals with regards to eye testing and prescription glasses. I eventually chose Vision Express because they were offering ... Read the complete review

I have to say I was very impressed when I went into Vision Express. The staff are really polite and friendly and the service they provide is very good. I was looking for a new set of frames and had been to numerous other shops where nothing really took my fancy. When I went into Vision Express I saw 2 pairs of really nice rimless ... I have been a customer with Vision Express for many years now, probably more than 10, and I think I know a fair amount about their service and their standards. I am a contact lens wearer which means I visit regularly both for sight tests every 2 years and for contact lens check ups annually. The store where I live in ... Read the complete review

Vision Express.. I have been a customer of vision express since I started wearing contact lenses about 7 years ago. I have had quite good customer service from them in this time and the staff in my local branch are always friendly and they do not have a high staff turnover so its nice to see a familar face when you go into the shop to have an eye ... I am not the type of person to pop into town every week, so I like to buy my glasses from Vision Express. Well, they do make their glasses in an hour. I have been three or four times over the last 10 years or so. Each time I have collected a voucher for a free eye test or a discount of their glasses. These vouchers are often ... when it comes to the prices of the glasses themselves, vision express are rip-off merchants. they must make a fortune! sure its only business, but you can go online to a website such as www.glasses-direct.co.uk and get the same glasses for about 60% cheaper! their range of glasses is good, but yet again... online has far more choice and alot ... I visited Vision express a few weeks ago to have my eye tested as my eyes were playing up a little bit. Why Didn't I go to specsavers? Well, I was just sitting in college and the first optician that came into my mind was vision express. I never needed Glasses until I was back at college in 2005, as most of our work was based at home, Microsoft Word was the perfect format in which to return essays. I had been having sore heads looking at the monitor for prolonged periods, I struggled to read my Own "hand-written" work at times, this was not down to the fact I happen to ... My partner booked an eye test at Vision Express recently after a years worth of bad customer service with another well known opticians. I went along with him and we had to take our 2 year old son. My eyesight is not what anyone could class as good. While my right eye isn't too bad, severe astigmatism and short-sightedness in my left eye means that I'm among the people who can see very little without my glasses. As anyone with bad eyesight knows, this can make choosing new glasses a hard task, so usually I invite my mum along to ... Read the complete review

~~~~A bit about me~~~ This being a review about a personal health care service, I think it a bit fair to share what my needs are and why I am using such a service! I decided after not being able to read the questions on TV shows such as Millionaire etc that it was about time I went and got my eyes tested again. I usually find this to be quite a daunting task as you have to pay £13 to be sat in a room and bright lights being shone in your eyes, whilst wearing some 15th Century contraption! Well, I ... Around this time last year, acutely aware that soon I would be graduating, earning some money and no longer be eligible for free eye tests / discounted glassed on the NHS, I thought I would make the most of it, and get my eyes checked. Sunday morning, woke up, put on specs then got out of bed. Specs fell off onto floor so I groped to collect them and stumbled out to place in my partners hand with a 'please fix these'. However, they were spliced in two (?) and unwearable, I had to drive 100 miles that day - not advisable - and needed to get something done. Eye test ... Read the complete review
