Advantages: helps you heal faster,good for your skin,absorb other vitamins better

Disadvantages: none really

I only started taking a vitamin c tablet everyday about two months ago. Not to boost my immune system,but I was told that it would be really good for my skin (it's vain I know!)

About a week after I started taking them, I noticed a major improvement in my skin,the dark circles under my eyes had reduced a lot and my skin looked much healthier and more even.

Vitamin C can boost your immune system,it can also aid the absorbtion of most other vitamins too.

It also produces collagen,whic is responsible for holding the cells in your muscles skin and bones together. If you lack vitamin c you may find that you bruise easily,have wounds that don't heal very fast.

The recommended daily allowance of vitamin c for a non smoker is 60mg,the recommended amount for a smoker is 100mg.

It is also an anti oxidant that can help protect your body from free radicals.

Summary: Great for general health.
