Advantages: Easy to use, great functions, handbag sized
Disadvantages: None that I know of!
What is it?
The weight watchers points calculator is a great tool to help you stick to the weight watchers points plan. This is a small, round, pocket sized silver calculator with a funky striped design on the top. It can be carried in your handbag and just looks like a funky accessory. The gadget can either be used as a regular calculator or to calculate points in a particular product.
How does it work?
The points calculator allows you to calculate the points value of a product by letting you input the calories in a food and the saturated fat. This is easy to do. You simply press the "points" button on the right hand side of the calculator and it will then ask you to enter the amount of calories. Once you have done this hit enter and it will ask you to enter the grams of saturated fat. Again, hit enter and the points value of the product will be displayed. It also allows you to save all the points you have eaten that day and will tell you how many you have left. It also allows this feature to be used over the course of a week.
Why is it useful?
Weight watchers do list the points values on all of their own brand foods however points values aren't listed on normal foods! A lot of food's points values can be found in weight watchers books or online but some can't be found. This is where the calculator comes in! It is handbag sized so its handy to carry when you visit the supermarket. It means that you can work out what points are in a food before you buy it!
What do I think about it?
I've been using my calculator for two weeks now and I think that it is an extremely useful tool. I find that it is quicker to work out the points on the calculator rather than look it up in the books or online. I like the design of it because it looks quite funky and fits perfectly in my handbag. Because it looks like a cool gadget I'm not embarassed using it in the supermarket! Its really easy to use and I think that the price I paid for it (£7.95 in my meeting, which I believe is cheaper than online.) is well worth it as it has proved to be a very useful tool!
Summary: Fab gadget which is easy to use.
