Advantages: Its very affordable, available from most chemists and is not harmful so can help children

Disadvantages: it can make your eyes squint if you over apply

I think this is the best thing ever for headaches!

I am a constant pill popper- or I was till I found out that constant pill popping could affect your liver and mean you could need a transplant when your older- this scared me, at one point to excape headaches I was taking the maximum amount of paracetamol a day to knock out my headache. Only to find that by doing that, you actually create a headache which is painful when you try to stop taking the pills. I stopped takieng paracetamol.

I cannot take iuprofen as it now doesnt work for me, I took too much my body is used to it.

But 4HEAD is EXCELLENT! it actually works- and isnt bad for me, and doesnt cause headaches it I dont use it!

The first time I tried it I actually bought it thinking it was some sort of pill in a round box makeing it a new accessory for my bag, but finding it was what looks like a massive lip gloss I was disappointed. So just to let you know, there was no placebo effect with this, I used it as I had a headache, I didnt have anything else on me and I thought, why not, as I got on the bus on the way to boots for some paracetamol with codine...

But, after like 2 minutes, it began to work- my headach was numbed into submission, I felt releif really quickly.

Its basicly like a big tube of platic looking transparent erm..., gunk, its not slimy or messy, infact I can use it when I have my foundation on and as long as the foundation is dry, its fine to use, no wipe marks or anything.

You wipe it across your forehead, -or if you are me, you wipe if over your forehead 3 or 4 times, and it releases a type of menthol scent, -warning, do not get this too close to your eyes it will cause you to shut them as if someone is throwing ice and snow at your face.
You get an instant cooling effect, its really nice- even in winter as it doesnt actually feel cold, it just feels calm. Its a calm sort of scent and you may notice when using it you actually start to slow your breathing down so your breathing more deeply and you actually find yourself calming down.

This could be partly why it works, alothough it does seem to numb the pain and cool your head making your headache feel less painful physically, but if your actually slowing down and not tensing up as much, this could be a major factor in not haveing the headach come rolling back like what happens when the 4 hours of paracetamol run out.

Unlike paracetamol, if your haveing a really stressful day, and you find the pills dont work, with pills you eed to wait a further 4 hours to take them again, but with this, theres no real limit, its not really going to poison you- though watchout for putting too much on at once, your eyes get affected and you will temporarily look like you have turned into a squinty eyed mole.

I wouldnt however recommend this if you suffer with major migrains, it does wonders for tension headaches and pain that is localised to just your head (it doenst work on cuts and buises either, I tried.) from my experience of migrains, you dont actually notice it every time but its actually an entire body thing, not just a headach thats gotten out of hand, so while this may help a little, for migrain sufferers, please see your doctor in addition.

I would recommend this for anyone with stress, pounding, tesnsion or eye strain headaches, though with the eye strain one, see an optition or you will end up with it comming back. I would also say this could be benefitial to children where you may not want to hand over pills every time, but do speak to your doctor first, or nhs direct atleast, this stuff smells very strong and could cause a child to feel its too painful for his or her eyes.

I am also not so sure how to keep this, its obviously in need of being somewhere dark and not too dry as it could thoretically shrink into non existance as it is make with liquid, but I have had mine for over a year now and its still going strong haveing been stored in the depths of my makeup bag.

Summary: A very good thing to have in your pill box, makeup bag or on your bathroom shelf
