Advantages: it works

Disadvantages: price

When I get a headache, I often feel like putting Deep Heat on my head. The pain feels like that would help, and I now have the closest thing possible: 4head.

I read the recently crowned review of this and bough some that day. For 3.6g you are talking about £4.75 in Boots, so it's dead expensive, but anything is worth a go to get rid of the headaches that have plagued me in the past.

It comes in a little pink tube like a lip-stick. You roll up the head and rub it across your forehead. It's a bit like a little pritt stick really. I was a bit annoyed that it was pink and girly - why the sexism? Carrying this around with me I am at risk of looking like a lady!

The active ingredient (indeed the only one) is levomenthol. Basically, this is not too dissimilar to the stuff in deep heat or vicks. You rub it on your forehead (it leaves no mark or grease), and after two minutes it begins to tingle just like deep heat.

I have to say that on first use it felt nice, and distracted me from the pain of the headache, but after half an hour it had worn off and the headache was even worst. I was really annoyed with this, so just applied some more, and I have to admit that it did take the headache away. It didn't go completely, but all but. My head still felt delicate (like it does right now), but it was 90% gone.

So I would recommend this for those plagued with headaches, but would say bad headaches will likely require lots of use, and therefore it's a fairly expensive treatment.

All in all, I will be buying more of this, but it's not the miracle cure I thought and hoped it would be.

Summary: do it

The American version of this product had what was possibly the most annoying advert EVER: http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=f_SwD7RveNE

I defy you not to have it running through your head the rest of the day.

There are some cheaper 'generic' versions available now, from about £1.50 I think... I reckon the pink one suits you tho'! :)
