Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Lemon
by jlaker1992
Introduction:
I have tried so many different products over the past few months, with many products not really Doing much for me! I tried these as they were on offer in savers. I have been put off trying these type of medicines as I didn't think having a hot drink with a sachet would work, but I was wrong! These really do work! ... Lemsip cold and flu is available in all supermarkets. I will now go into more detail on this product.
Price:
I paid £2.50 for a packet of 10 sachets. This was a good price, normally these are priced at around £3.50. You can also get smaller packets of 5. They are more expensive than the tablets, but work in a way that I prefer! Overall they are not bad value and I am happy to pay the price for these. I have found the price of these varies greatly from shop to shop so keep an eye out for these and look out for good prices and stock up! You me know when you will need some.
How do they work?
They work simply by adding the sachet to a mug of boiling water and stirring. After the water has cooled down you simply drink the water with the Mixture in. The sachet contains the drugs and caffeine which will help to reduce symptoms and help start to feel better.
Do they work?
For me, they are the best thing to take when I am Suffering from a cold or have flu symptoms. The warm drink helps to warm me up inside and also they seem to work pretty quickly. The taste is very nice and refreshing, the lemon flavour is my favourite, I have tried the black current drink bit it's not my favourite. There are many benefits to drinking these when you are suffering from a cold. They are very strong and help with all symptoms
Overall:
These are my favourite cold and flu combatters! I have been using these for a while now and enjoy having a cup of lemsip Lemon when I am feeling poorly! I would recommend you give these a try, you can feel them working and they feel more quick to help than taking tablets. Don't be put off by the price and give them a try :)
Give these a try, 5 stars from me!! Read the complete review |

============
It's not very enjoyable, having a cold. Man-flu (otherwise known as a heavy cold) is worse. Flu is the absolute pits. With the weather being as unremittingly pants as it has been for the last few months, myself and family have had several colds and one bout of Man-flu, with added temperature ... and nausea. The other symptoms were also present. Lethargy. Sore throat leading to coughing. A headache beginning just behind my right eye. A sinus cavity that would decide at odd times to open the floodgates, clearing my blocked nose in order to deluge my nostrils with a flood of biblical proportions.
Worse than all of these was the way in which it all transpired to rob me of precious sleep. Nothing is more frustrating then staring at the ceiling, having to breathe through your mouth to the point that it, and the lips surrounding them feel like the floor of the world's worst taxi. And then comes birdsong and a lightening in the sky, making you wish you owned a shotgun.

==========
The next best thing is Lemsip max strength cold and flu. It may look like the freeze-dried contents of a public urinal, but it represents a halfway decent night's slumber. It may seem odd to recommend a product which contains caffeine to achieve this, but it works well for me if taken an hour before heading for bed. If you find it creates, rather than solves a sleeping problem, get that standard strength instead.
Lemsip max cold & flu capsules also contains paracetamol and phenylephrine (bless you!). The first ingredient took the edge off my headache and soreness of my throat, improving my temper. The unpronounceable ingredient acts as a decongestant, making blood vessels in your nose contract and narrow. It also reduces the production of mucus, good news for everyone.
The sachets are easily dissolved in warm or hot water. For around £2, it is definitely worth having a pack in reserve for next time the dreaded virus strikes. Note: do NOT drink Alcohol as well. Does not play well with Paracetamol. Read the complete review |

Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Lemon
by Beanie8844
In the last week I've had terrible cold and flu, which has given me a cough, a sore throat, runny nose and mucus, a temperature and a general feeling of low energy and ache pretty much all over. I was told by my partner that i did need to 'man up' a bit, but in my defence I did feel pretty rough indeed.
When I've been ill in ... the past I've always treated colds with tablets, I didn't really see the point of taking any of the soothing drinks or losengers because i wanted something that would target the symptoms that i was experiencing fast, after all you just want to start feeling better as soon as possible.
This time round though and I don't get ill very often at all, the tablets weren't cutting it. Not wanting to go to the doctors for what was ultimately a dose of 'man flu' I opted to try - Lemsip Max Cold and Flu after my partner purchased some for me. I was reluctant at first, but thought i'd better give it a go and I have to be honest i was pleasantly suprised. I thought it would taste horrible with an undertone of the medicine and a nasty after taste, but it was actually very pleasant and easy to make also. All you have to do is dissolve one of the ten sachets into a mug of hot (not boiling) water and stir. If you normally like your tea or coffee sweet then I would recommend adding sugar or a sweetener, but this is not essential as it is rather nice without.
According to the instruction leaflet contained within the packet - Lemsip Max Cold and Flu contains a combination of ingredients which are effective in relieving the symptoms associated with cold and flu, including the relief of aches and pains, sore throats, headaches, nasal congestion and the lowering of temperature. The two main ingredients are Paracetamol - a well known pain killer and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride - not so well known, but this will reduce congestion, swelling and pressure. Ideal really.
Now, it tastes nice or nice enough to drink nowing that potentially it could make you feel better, but is it any good? People may have had different experiences, but for me this realy worked. Within half an hour of drinking the mug full I had fallen asleep on the sofa. I have been told that I was asleep for around three hours, but when i woke up I did feel much better. I continued to drink it in the doses recommended on the packaging - every four to six hours - and in a day my cold was on the way out and i felt much better. So, a big thumbs up from me.
If you're feeling rough and need a pick me up then I would recommend Lemsip Max Cold and Flu - Lemon. There are other flavours available I think, but ultimately it is medicine so we just have to drink it!
