Advantages: Great pain relief
Disadvantages: None that i can think of
Anadin is a name that is well established when it comes to pain relief and over the years it has done nothing but improve from strength to strength with varieties such as Anadin Extra which is what I am going to review today.
It still comes in the same bright yellow oblong box with the white oval capsule shaped tablet in the middle with the words Anadin in large black letters which is the basic trademark for Anadin then underneath this the words Extra is written in smaller red lettering. The oval has a red bordering which makes it stand out from the bright yellow background.
Along the top of the packaging there is the words “EXTRA PAIN RELIEVING INGREDIENT” written in small red capital letters. The bottom of the box shows a picture of two of the capusule type tablets with the words “COATED TABLETS EASY TO SWALLOW” written in white capital letters against a red background. Above the picture of the tablets it will tell you how many tablets are in the box which basically comes in packs of 16 or 32.
Inside the packet the tables come in strips of 8 which are encased in white plastic compartments with foil backing. to access the tablets you can either push the tablet out from the front or pierce the foil backing.
The active ingredients in Anadin Extra is as follows
300mg Asprin
200mg Paracetamol Ph Eur
45mg Caffeine
As mentioned earlier the tablets are oval in shape and also coated which to me makes them so easy to swallow.
There is a good mixture of ingredients here as we have the paracetamol which is great for pain relief and temperatures and the Asprin is a great anti inflammatory and together they work great for a lot of pain relief such as:
Headache
Backache
Toothache
Period pains
Dosage
The dose stated on the packet is 1-2 tablets to be taken with water every 4 hours but no more than 8 tablets in any given 24 hour period and with all medications if symptoms persist contact your GP.
DO NOT GIVE TO CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD.
Now you should not take these if you suffer from stomach ulcers or blood disorders and it also tells you that if you are breast feeding that you should not use these. The main thing to be aware of is do not take if you are already taking another paracetamol based product so always read the label of any medication you are taking to be on the safe side.
These pain killers can be found at all major supermarkets and pharmacy’s I got mine at Boots which cost me £3.70 for a 32 pack. There are cheaper versions on the market such as Boots own brand with the same ingredients as these but I suppose if you are like me and feel safe with a brand name then you should go with what you trust but if it is price that is bothering you then the Boots equivalent are around £2.90 for the 32 pack with is a saving of 80p.
Anadin are made by a company called Wyeth Healthcare who are based in Berkshire.
Summary: A great pain relief
