Inspiration can strike in the most unlikely of places and at the oddest of times. For me, this amazing return to Dooyoo has been prompted by my first ever attack of the dreaded Piles (haemorrhoids). Don’t get me wrong, any assistance in relieving writers block is gratefully received. But I would have preferred it to be something a little less painful! PROBLEM… Haemorroid /haem’eroid/ [Gk, haima + rhoia, flow], a varicosity in the lower rectum or anus caused by congestion in the veins of the haemorrhoidal plexus. The haemorrhoids can be internal, and may become large enough to protrude from ‘you know where’, and may bleed when you go to the loo. External haemorrhoids are usually not painful and do not tend to bleed unless the vein ruptures or thromboses…NICE! I recently had a little embarrasing problem so decided to go to the doctors. He didnt exactly say that I have got piles (haemorrhoids) but prescribed me a type of pile ointment. Piles are swollen blood vessels which occour inside or outside the back passage (anus).
