Advantages: eases pain quick
Disadvantages: none
I recently had a little embarrasing problem so decided to go to the doctors. He didnt exactly say that I have got piles (haemorrhoids) but prescribed me a type of pile ointment. Piles are swollen blood vessels which occour inside or outside the back passage (anus). Some people have piles without experiencing any symptoms, but sufferes may notice bleeding, swelling or pain, itch and irritation. At least 40% of people suffer from piles at some time in their life. However, many people are too embarrased to seek advice or treatment and, as a result, suffer unnecessary discomfort. He prescribed me an ointment called Anusol. It is used to relieve the pain, swelling, itch and irritation of internal and external piles and other related conditions, such as anal itching. It contains a number of ingredients. ZINC OXIDE is an astringent which soothes and protects raw areas and helps reduce swelling. It also acts as an antiseptic to prevent bacterial growth. BISMUTH SALTS are astringent and antiseptic and also protect raw, irritated areas around the anal area. BALSAM PERU is an antiseptic which has a protective action on sore areas and can promote healing. The box is blue, green and white and it says Anusol in big letters and it says Effective, soothing relief underneath. The tube itself is blue, purple and white. Inside the box there is a 2 inch nozzle which can be used for internal piles. Before you use the ointment you should read the instructions. Do not use it if you have ever had a reaction to the cream or any of the ingredients and you should be careful if you have rectal bleeding. If you are in doubt whether any bleeding you have is caused by piles then you must see your doctor. This is safe to use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Before you should use Anusol, you should wash the anal area and dry carefully with a soft towel. Apply the ointment to the affected area at night, in the mo
rning and after each bowel movement. For internal piles, you need to screw on the nozzle and insert it into the back passage and squeeze gently. A number of factors can contribute to the development of piles. The most common cause is straining during bowel movement, usually as a result of constipation. During pregnancy and it is also hereditry, you may be more likely to develop piles if you family has a history of suffering. I have got a 25g tube. It is a very light brown in colour and it does have a smell to it but cant really describe it too well, mabe similar to chocolate! I have used the cream a couple of times and have found it to be very effective. After a few hours the itching dissapears although it can be a little messy when applying it. As I said earlier, I got it on prescription You can buy it in all chemists for around £3-£3.50. I would definately reccomend this to other people.
