Advantages: Work quickly, easy to swallow, cheap
Disadvantages: Can only buy them in Asda
The product I am reviweing comes under this category but it is not the same as the product pictured, as the ones I buy have the colourful plastic coating. The box pictured shows the 200mg Caplets whereas I am talking about the 200mg Capsules. The difference is that the caplets are just the chalky white tablet (which if you don't manage to swallow on your first attempt will start to dissolve giving off an awful taste) whereas the capsules do not because the plastic stops this from happening. I would recommend purchasing the capsules if you struggle to swallow tablets.
They are 90-something pence (sorry, the actual price escapes me) so you do pay quite a bit more just to have this plastic shell but for me it is more than worth it. The caplets are about 60p cheaper for the same number of tablets (16) so if tablets do not make you gag I would save the pennies and buy those. The reason I get the capsules is that I sometimes fail to swallow on the first attempt, meaning the tablet starts to dissolve in my mouth and the taste makes me feel physically sick. The worry that I will not manage to swallow it and thus get the awful taste means I struggle more to swallow and this happens quite frequently, leaving me dreading taking tablets so I go for the capsules as it solves the problem.
The product is for the relief of rheumatic and muscular pain, backache, neuralgia, headache, migrane, dental pain, period pain, feverishness and the symptoms of colds and flu.
Eash capsules contains 200mg Ibuprofen and they should be swallowed with a glass of water (although I normally just use whatever still drink I have handy at the time). They are not suitable for children under the age of 12. The maximum does is 6 capsules in a 24 hour period, and they are for short term use only.
The capsules come in a red cardboard box (identical to the product picture but where is says caplets these say capsules) and the tablets themselves are in 2 8-tablet blister packs. You pop the tablets out one at a time as they are in their own individual blisters. They are platic-coated bullet shaped tablets which are half white and half reddish pink. I like this as it means if you drop one it is easy to see where it has gone.
They are very easy to take. I find them easier to swallow than the capsules because they slide down your throat more easily.
You will find them with all of the other medicines in Asda. Clearly this is a drwaback - you can only get them in one shop.
I find them to be just as good as the branded tablets such as Nurofen, so there is no need to pay more for those. They are very effective and in my experience work extremely rapidly giving excellent relief. They are stronger thean paracetamol and have never failed to get rid of my migranes when paracetamol don't even make a dent in the pain. You can take these alongside paracetamol if you need extra pain relief.
Summary: I would highly recommend them
