Advantages: Calming, well packaged and reasonably priced.

Disadvantages: It doesn't work every time.

Avon's Sleeptherapy Sleep Balm usually retails for £2.50 per pot, but at the moment you can purchase it from brochure 9 for £1.50 which I feel is a very good price for this product. It is only a 10ml pot, but the packaging is sturdy and durable, and the product contains helpful, natural ingredients that have to come at a certain price.

It is designed to aid a restful night's sleep, and I personally have found it to be very effective at doing so. The soft balm, which is similar to vaseline in texture but without the greasy feel to it, can be massaged gently into the wrists or into the temples shortly before bedtime. The sleeptherapy mixture of essential oils and herbs, which obviously includes lavender, is designed to help induce rest and relaxation in the person wearing and breathing in this product.

I find that this is quite a helpful product to use every now and again. I have at times thought that this product was not effective, but I realise that as far as natural products go, this is actually very useful. If I am stressed to the point where even a prescription drug would not help me much, then of course this product will not do a lot either. However, on a day-to-day basis, when I am simply feeling a little stressed, I find that this product has a really calming and soothing effect on me.

Strangely enough, I feel that part of the effectiveness of this product is possibly psychosomatic. What I mean is that I wonder if going through the motions of applying this product, and making a conscious effort to relax has as much of an effect on me as the product itself does. Either way, I find that when I need a little help getting a good night's sleep, this product is a real boost.

Summary: I really find that this helps me to relax.
