I bought Badger sleep balm as part of a pack of three Badger balms. I must have been in quite a suggestible mood, wandering around 'Utility' in Liverpool's Bold Street, looking for a gift for a friend. I liked the look of the gift boxes with three badger balms in so much that I bought one for myself too. I chose the gift set for mums and babies which included a baby balm and body balm. At the time my daughter was one year old and I had hopes that a gentle, natural balm such as this might help her to settle through the night, no harm in trying anyway. There are different sizes available, mine is the smaller 21g tin. It's a nice size to keep in your bag, good ... Read the complete review

~~So what is it?~~ It is a temple rub using essential oils as the active ingredients for a natural, gentle sleep aid. The idea is that you smooth a small amount over your temples or other pulse points, lay back and let the wonderfully fragrant oils do their magic. ~~The packaging~~ This was definitely a selling point for me. The balm comes in a lovely retro looking tin. The lid has a picture of a badger taking a snooze, the back has information about the company and the ingredients. The lid is fairly easy to remove although those who have weak hands or artritic conditions may struggle slightly. ~~Is it ... Read the complete review

I must admit that I was completely sucked in by the packaging on this product. The tin is just SO cute, a really touchy feely cool metal tin with a lovely cuddly sleepy badger on the front. Although most nights I am so tired I just fall asleep when my head touches the pillow, like most of us there are some nights when it is difficult to relax. This is when my magic pot of sleep balm comes in. This balm is predominately olive oil, castor oil and beeswax but infused with essential oils of bergamot, ginger, rosemary, lavender and balsam fir. The mixture of essential oils gives a really fragrant aroma as soon as the tin is opened. When you ... Read the complete review

This is one in a range of products from the Badger company, who specialise in natural body care. The product is organic, it comes in a cute small round tin, not unlike Vaseline and can be found in a lot of high street stores, such as Boots, or on the web. It costs around £5 a tin, and seemingly lasts forever! This particular balm (there are others in the range) is a combination of Rosemary, Ginger, Bergamot, Balsam Fir and Lavender. As with most essential oil products, if you don't like the smell then the intended effects of the product will not work for you. However, it smells divine. Rosemary is used to clear the mind, for thinking and memory. ... Read the complete review

I didn't buy my Badgers Sleep Balm- to be honest it would never have crossed my mind to do so. But following my Mother's death, a close friend bought it for me. It is on sale in Boots for just over £4 but no doubt online you can get it cheaper. Now I cannot say that it worked for me straight away- but that really isn't surprising given the emotional place I was at- I couldn't even sleep with the light off. After a while, I found myself enjoying the routine of rubbing the ointment into my brow relaxing in itself, it was like the rubbing sensation was telling my body and mind, that the time for rest had arrived, You need very little and so the small 21g pot ...
