Advantages: None for me except maybe prevents things getting worse
Disadvantages: Doesn't work on many people from my experience
I first tried this product on my husband over two years ago when the first tell tale signs of verucca appeared.
My chemist currently sells the bazuka "extra" gel at just under £5. It comes in a bright yellow box now with the word BAZUKA in large letters promising and claims to be extra strength treatment for warts and verruca.
Prepare the gel
The first time you use it you need to unscrew the lid - make sure both the yellow lid and white part underneath come off, then remove the red part around the neck, then you need to rescrew the white/yellow part back on quite firmly to pierce the membrane, then to add more of a faff you need to loosen it slightly again to let it "breath" before re tightening.
When I used this on my husbands foot I will confess it did not make the slightest bit of difference and he has recently undergone electro surgery in order to rid his feet of the now immense amount of verrucae he has, however this does not seem to have worked well and I think he has bullet proof verrucas on his feet. I managed to not contract any until about three months ago when I developed a sharp pain on my big toe - further investigation showed I now also had a verucca - hoping bazuka had become better I went off and bought some.
How do you apply it
Feet need to be soaked for a few minutes first which is as good an excuse as any for my foot spa to come out! I then dry my feet with a fresh towel which goes imediately back into the wash to avoid more contamination of these annoying things. Then you unscrew the yellow lid - make sure the white part stays on, add add a couple of drops to the wart / verruca. You need to leave it for about 5 minutes to dry and then thats it - job done - or so I hoped.
Every evening, as recomended, for the next week I repeated this routine - the only difference being you need to pick off the white patch of dried gel before soaking etc. After a week you need to rub the verucca with an emery board (there is a small one in the box but it is not up to much) or a pumice stone - I prefer to use this.
It does clearly state that it can take several weeks for the treatment to completely work, however I have been doing this consistently for 12 weeks now and there is no difference to it except that it has not got worse and I still have only one. I don't think this product works with all veruccas and so its off to the podiatrist with my husband next week for the silver nitrate treatment - I just hope it does not get as bad as his.
I can only offer opinion based on my experience - my opinion is this is a waste of money but I realise it must work on some people.
IMPORTANT INFO
Do not use if you are diabetic or suffer poor circulation
Summary: Not worth the money in my opinion

- 18/02/09 Have you heard of a herbal tincture called Thuya/Thuja? It's a miracle cure, takes a little patience, but eliminates the need for surgery.
Love the kitten in the photo. |

- 18/02/09 I used this for weeks and like you, nothing happened, so I stopped. Then about 2 or 3 months later, the verucca suddenly dropped out. Very strange. |
