Advantages: Does it's job well, unclogs noses fully, great for hayfever sufferers, works fast
Disadvantages: Can leave a temporary funny taste on the tongue, has a bubbly feeling in the nostrils, makes the nose dribbly during use - a social problem!
I haven't used Beconase of late, but I do remember being prescribed it a few times in my mid teens due to allergy induced cold symptoms, and I found it worked a real gem! Basically, Beconase is a nasal spray that's used to combat catarrh or other stuffy problematic nasal symptoms, that can also affect the ears and throat. It's basically a direct cure step up from all those common cure treatments, and there's even a version devised especially for hayfever sufferers. I had only needed to use the spray a few times before I felt like I didn't need it anymore, though I had been advised to carry on use for a while. The recommended dosage is 2/3 sprays up each nostril about 3 times a day. The idea of spraying a short stream of liquid up your nose can make you queasy, but when you've got a clogged nose you won't feel it much anyhow, but for the first few seconds your nostrils might feel mildly bubbly, and when it does penetrate your nose, it really dose start to feel better in the first few seconds. Also make sure you breathe in and out before and after spraying to avoid any problems, but as usual follow your Dr's advice and/or read the enclosed leaflet. It's an amazing little relief giver when your nose stuffiness just won't budge. I'd recommend you see your Dr. before taking this just incase as you might be allergic to the ingredients, or it mightn't be suitable for your cause. The only downside is sometimes the liquid leaves a taste on the back of your tongue, it's kind of unpleasant, but bareable and does die down after a while. Also have some tissues handy, as a bit of excess Beconase can dribble down your nose, and when your nose is unblocking, so can a few other things...It was weird taking this in school as my mates would clear the area when I stuck it up my nose! Overall Beconase is a great general nasal cure, I'd recommend it to anyone with a really stubborn cold, or stuffy nose problems, but
do see your Dr. first just incase, as he/she might need to prescribe something else.
