Beechams All in One Tablets Non Drowsy
Advantages: Doesn't taste foul, alleviates symptoms
Isn't a cold the kind of thing you seem to suffer from every year? When you are suffering from a cold, what do you take to help clear and fight your symptoms in the short term? For me, Beechams All In One Tablets is the best option. Especially if you want an alternative to the hot drink options.
*What Does Beechams All in One Tablets Claim To Do?*
These tablets are for the short term relief of the symptoms of colds, chills and flu with chesty coughs. These symptoms include headaches, shivers, aches and pains, blocked nose and painful sinuses, catarrh, sore throat and a chesty, productive cough.
*How Do They Work?
These tablets contain three key ingredients. These are:
- Paracetamol: this is a painkiller and it reduces your temperature when you have a fever.
- Guaifensin: this is an expectorant which loosens phlegm and relieves a chesty cold.
- Phenlyephrine hydrochloride: this is a decongestant which unblocks your nose and sinuses allowing you to breathe more easily.
Beechams All In One Tablets are to be taken in doses of two tablets by drinking them with half a glass of water.
*Frequency of Use*
Beechams All In One Tablets are to be taken every four hours as required. Usually it gets to about 3 and half hours after you have taken the tablets and you are feeling your symptoms again but you must ensure that you leave the full four hours. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
*Who Can't Take The Tablets?*
There are a number of circumstances in which you should not take Beechams All In One Tablets. These are:
- If you have ever had an allergic reaction to paracetamol, guaifenesin or phenylephrine hydrochloride.
- If you have kidney or liver problems, overactive thyroid, diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease.
- If you are taking tricyclic antidepressants or monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
- If you are currently taking beta blockers.
- If you are under 12 years of age.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
It is also essential that you do not take this with any other paracetamol containing products or other flu, cold or decongestant products.
There are a number of common side effects that you could possibly suffer from if you take these tablets. These are:
- Upset stomach, sickness and diarrhoea.
- Raised blood pressure, headache and dizziness.
- Difficulty sleeping and palpitations.
These effects should go away if you stop taking the tablets.
In the packet you get 16 tablets. The tablets are white and capsule shaped. The size of the tablets is a bit of a negative for me as I don't swallow tablets with ease and these are a little on the large size. In fact they are huge. Luckily, these tablets are film-coated which makes them easier to swallow otherwise I don't think I would ever get them down. As it is it takes a whole glass of water.
The packaging of Beechams All In One Tablets is in the same style as Beechams All In One Medicine in liquid dose form. It is packaged in a light blue and dark blue cardboard box with a picture of a the two tablets on the front. Inside the box is a leaflet which contains all of the details that you could possibly want and need to know about the product.
There are two plastic blisters inside, each containing 8 tablets. They are easily opened by popping the tablets through the foil. The packaging is perfectly adequate and the box is a nice and compact size to have in your handbag without taking up to much room.
*How Much Are They? And Where Can You Buy Them?*
Beechams All In One Tablets are widely available to buy. On the Beechams website they state that you can purchase the tablets from Tesco, Boots, Asda, Superdrug, Lloyds Pharmacy, Alliance Pharmacy, Sainsbury, Waitrose, Morrisons and the Coop. I have no doubt that you could also buy them from local smaller pharmacies.
These tablets are sold in packs of 16 or 24 tablets. The pack of 16 retails at £3.99 and the pack of 24 tablets costs £4.39. This is a little bit pricey but as they are so effective I consider them to be fantastic value for money.
*Do They Work and Would I Recommend Them?*
Whether or not they work is the most important part of this review and I definitely say that they work. If you buy these tablets and you most certainly will not regret it. I found that about 20 minutes after I have taken these tablets, I can feel my symptoms start to lessen, in particular the not being able to breathe and the blocked sinuses. It wasn't so brilliant as easing my sore throat but I took some throat lozenges for this instead. These tablets lasted for a good 3-3 and a half hours before the symptoms started to come back which is a lot better than some products.
I would unquestionably recommend Beechams All In One Tablets. A lot of the time I use the hot lemon drinks but when you are out and about these can be quite difficult to fit into your day which is why I actually bought these in the first place. They are easy to carry around and take less than a minute to take.
They may well be expensive, like most Beechams products, but they are also top quality and this is why I believe that they warrant the high pricetag. I will buy this tablets again in the future as they alleviate the horrible cold and flu symptoms quickly and for relatively long periods of time.
If you have ever taken Beechams All In One medicine then you will know that it works superbly but tastes absolutely foul. These All-in-One tablets take away the awful taste that you get when taking the medicine instead which is always a positive from my point of view as it makes me gag.
Summary: A temporary cure for man flu
