Advantages: instantly soothes sore throats.
Disadvantages: sometimes you can wash away the medicine soothing your throat.
I had to purchase Beechams all in one medicine the other day due to getting a cold (lucky me), I bought this item from my local Budgens for just over the £3 mark for a bottle of 8 doses worth.
Beechams all in one is to help with cold or flu symptoms and helps with headaches, blocked nose, sore throat and a chesty cough. The medicine is an orange liquid with a menthol taste, to me I must admit it is a strong menthol and took me a couple of seconds sitting in my mouth before I could swallow it.
It comes with a measuring cap and should be taken every four hours as required but you cannot exceed 4 doses in 24hours. This medicine is not recommended to children under 12 except on medical advice.
When you swallow this medicine it instantly soothes and gets rid of the dry sore throat feeling, I even found that it warms up my belly as it goes down.
This product does practically everything it says on the packet, the only problem I have found with this product is when I have a sore throat and a cough a few minutes after I am coughing again and the sore throat comes back a little although not as bad, so I try to let the medicine stay in my throat as long as possible for example I will have a drink (if I am thirsty) before taking this medicine because I made the mistake before of having a drink afterwards and practically washed it all away and couldn't have another dose until another 4hours had passed.
I would recommend this product to anyone suffering from cold or flu as it instantly relieves and is much easier to swallow than a couple of tablets when you have a full blown sore throat.
My cold is nearly all gone so it must be doing something right.
Summary: does everything it says on the packet

- 07/05/09 When I have a bad throat and want relief in between doses of medicine, I drink milk with some honey added, which coats my throat nicely. |
