Advantages: Did make me feel better

Disadvantages: isn't themagic cure

This is one product I wish I was never in a position to be able to review but unfortunately I can.

About two weeks ago I got a really painful sore throat that made it very painful to swallow this after a few days developed into a chesty cough and coughing up loads of phlegm. I was aching and generally feeling rough. All this time all I took was Paracetamol as my son also had a virus as well I considered that nothing would help.

After nine days of feeling rough I dragged myself to the chemist and croaked to the pharmacist to give me something to help. She suggested the Beechams all in one which cost me £5.18 for a twelve dose bottle.

It states on the bottle that it treats headaches, blocked noses, sore throats and chesty coughs.

Dosage

It is for adults and children over twelve only unless upon medical advice.

The dose is 20mls of the liquid which can be given every four hours but no more than four doses in 24hours. Each dose contains a full dose of paracetamol so no other paracetamol should be given in combination. How it works

The leaflet inside states that there are three parts to this medicine that help relieve different symptoms

Paracetamol reduces fever and aching
Gualifenesin which is an expectorant helps to loosen phlegm and relieves chesty coughs
Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a decongestant which helps to relieve sinuses and help breathing.

My experience

I took this medicine with hope that I would feel a little better. I poured a 20ml of the golden liquid and smelt and tasted similar to Vicks. It is a nice golden colour but tastes vile. I have found as I took more doses that it was easier to swallow it all in one go.

The effects I found that after about twenty minutes I did feel a little better in myself, my sore throat were easier. I did find very little difference in my coughing and my cold was slightly improved but it wasn't a really bad cold.

I did however feel much better in myself and I am not sure why but this enabled me to get off the sofa and play with my son for a while who has been very much craving attention from me. After half an hour I was exhausted but this definitely was an improvement for me.

I can't say this is a miracle medicine and four days later I am still coughing and feel tired but it definitely does help.

If you are feeling very poorly it is definitely worth a try as it may help you.

Hope this is one product you never need

Summary: some helpful aspects to medicine.may help you

I find that things like this will help my cold symptoms but they upset my tummy terribly.
