Advantages: Easy to swallow, Fast acting, Good relief
Disadvantages: Not enough in the box , Could be a little cheaper
I have been suffering from flu since last Friday, headache, shivers, fever, runny nose, the usual Flu symptoms! lol I had bought Beechams Flu Plus Caplets a few weeks ago, in anticipation of falling ill, as I usually do because I have a low immune system following a childhood illness. They are packaged in a very attractive box which is quite eye-catching. There are sixteen caplets in the box in two strips. They are very easy to swallow, and are no bigger than a pea! The box states that they provide 'rapid and effective relief from the major cold and flu symptoms in a convenient easy to swallow caplet', I cant disagree with that! The symptoms that they work on include - Fever Headache Aching limbs Blocked nose Sore throat pain Painful sinuses Shivers Adults and children over 12 are advised to take the caplets every 4 - 6 hours, consuming no more than 8 in 24 hours. Children aged 6 to 12 should take 1 caplet every four to 6 hours, consuming no more than 4 within 24 hours. Children under six should not take any at all. Each tablet includes - 500mg of Paracetamol 25mg Caffeine 5mg Phenylphrine Hydrochloride For me they take about half an hour to an hour to take effect. Firstly I feel that my temperature is being reduced then my sinuses begin to clear and when I stand the dizziness dissipates. Also my aching limbs begin to feel normal again. This lasts for about 3 or 4 hours then I pop another two pills! The only problem is that during he night I wake up shivering and wanting to sneeze and then I have to take some more caplets which means I lose another hour or twos sleep! lol. I think that these are the best flu remedy I have taken and recommend you to try them when you are next ill!

- 02/03/04 And it's a good job I didn't get it too! Wonder if that's the bug Dave had a couple of weeks ago though? I won't tell him if you don't! :o) |

- 10/02/04 Hmm, I prefer to take ordinary paracetamol, vitamin C powder stirred into juice, echinacea, and hot lemon with honey! I'm not keen on over-the-counter cold or flu medications. Sue |

- 10/02/04 I've found nightnurse to be suitable to knock you out during the night.... quite an effort to wake up though. Read all instructions supplied with it. P |
