Germolene always takes me back to those times in the school playground when you had scraped your knees and the dinner lady or teacher would produce this tub of magic pink cream! The smell alone is enough to make me five years old again!

Germolene is an antiseptic cream a bit like savlon but it has the added advantage of containing local anaesthetic to take the sting out of the scrapes and cuts that your family may encounter.

The things it can be used for include; minor cuts, grazes, minor burns, scalds, blisters, stings, insect bites, spots and chapped skin. I find to to be really effective when I have been bitten (I am really prone to mosquito bites) as it takes down the redness but also takes some of the itch away which stops me scratching it and making it into a really sore hole! I have also used it on irritation caused by handling fibreglass loft insulation (don't ask!) and it was very effective on this too.

Germolene had a place in my Mum's first aid kit and it will always have a home in mine too!
