Crowned ReviewBoots Alternatives Arnica Bruise Relief: Not A Miracle Cure But A Cure None-The-Less (678 words)

My Gran swore by Arnica cream, she used to need a lot of injections and blood tests and ended up with large unsightly bruises on many occasions. When I had my son I used the tablets but when I ended up falling heavily and had a bruise covering the whole of my thigh she prompted me to get down to Boots and pick up their version which she said was slightly cheaper than the branded version. *~* What Is Arnica? *~* To me it sounded like a herbal remedy and after some research I found that it is of sorts. It comes from the Arnica plant which has been used since back in the 16th Century. Europeans used to use it to soothe stomach and skin problems ...  Read the complete review

I have often heard people speak of the miracles that Arnica cream can work although I never felt I had a need to buy some for myself. I trust Boots' own products so didn't mind that it wasn't the brand I was ...  Read the complete review

I first bought this cream when I was in the later stages of pregnancy with my son. I had read somewhere that Arnica cream can be used to reduce perineum bruising following childbirth. As a first time mum who was anxious enough about childbirth anything that would help me recover was bought especially as this seemed preferable to sitting on a cushion for a few weeks. Anyway one caesarean section later this was consigned to the bathroom cabinet for future use. Fast forward 9 months and my young son was crawling and cruising and generally bumping into bits of furniture or toppling forward and getting the odd lump and bruise. I remembered I had this cream. So the next time ..  Read the complete review

Magic cream! (271 words)

Ever since my children were little I have always had a tube of Arnica, or magic cream, as my children call it, in my bag. Arnica is widely available from most chemists and supermarkets, but I usually buy Boots own make as it is cheaper and just as good as the more expensive brands. Arnica is a flowering plant that grows throughout much of Europe, India and North America. It is a perennial plant that grows up to about two feet and has yellow daisy like flowers. It is the root of the plant that is used for medicinal purposes. Arnica has been used medicinally since the 1500's to help aid healing. Arnica acts as an anti inflammatory and is used to treat bruises, ...  Read the complete review
