Advantages: Easy to take, Effective relief
Disadvantages: None to me
Not one of the well-known diarrhoea reliefs, Boots Diareze Diarrhoea Relief Capsules, I have found to be very effective. I came across these the other week when I had diarrhoea symptoms. Boots was the only chemist open at the time, so I wandered in and had a good look around at the various remedies. I actually bought the small packet that contains only 6 capsules, at a cost of £2.79GBP. The reason for this, is that I did not know if they would be suitable for me, and I did not want to waste money on buying more than I needed. Other packets can be bought that contain 12 or 18 capsules. The capsules come in foil seals storage and safety. The main active ingredient in each capsule is Loperamide Hydrochloride 2mg. I shall not list the other ingredients here. But if you need to know them, let me know and I will amend the review. Just as warning to some of you with a nervous disposition. Some of this review may be I bit too personal for your liking, so I will apologise now. I took 2 Diareze capsules with a drink of water following my bout of diarrhoea. The instructions tell you that this is the recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years of age. At first, the taking of these 2 capsules did help a little, but I had to go to the toilet again within an hour. I then took another capsule, (again as recommended on the instructions) straight away. This did help, as I did not have diarrhoea, but only stomach ache for the next few hours. After I suffered from another trip to the toilet, I took yet another capsule. This seemed to do the trick. It actually states in the instruction leaflet that comes in the packet, that you can take up to 6 Diareze in a 24 hour period. Luckily, I did not have to take this many. I think this type of medicine is, therefore, ideal for the relief of sudden, short-term diarrhoea, as I found out to my comfort. You must not give Boots Diareze Diarrhoea Relie
f Capsules to children under 12. Also, do not take them if you are pregnant or suffering from liver problems. According to the instructions, some side effects may occur. These can be nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, dry mouth, or dizziness. If at all concerned, then you should ask a doctor what to do. Now that I have used Boots Diareze Diarrhoea Relief Capsules, I shall keep the rest of the packet in my medicine cabinet for future use (if needed), as they have worked for me. Therefore, I do recommend them to other diarrhoea sufferers.

sillygoose - 30/05/04 i find diarrhoea is a hilarious subject when you don't have it [excuse my immature sense of humour] but quite possibly one of the worst feelings in the world when you do. Good to know there's a solution though.
