The tissues are very white and strong and they are removed from the cardboard box by means of a large oval shaped hole with soft plastic across it which helps the tissues to come out one by one and not in handfulls at a time, as some boxes of tissues can do. They are large enough so that I only have to use one at a time, even if I have a very h...more

The last time that I had a nasty cold my mum was horrified that I was walking around the house with a toilet roll in my hand to wipe my nose with! I had a lecture on getting some handkerchiefs or at least some balm tissues, now without stealing my Dads hankies the next best think would to be balm tissues. As always my Mum was right but as I was feeling so run down and poorly with this cold she kindly went out and got me some. I have read mixed reviews on balmed tissues but as the skin around my nose was so red and sore, it was beginning to crack so I would have been happy to give anything a go. I guess the toilet roll was handy as well as cheap! I had ...  Read the complete review

I tend to buy my tissues from boots as they seem to often have a two boxes for two pounds promotion running on their tissues and considering that their own branded tissues are often £1.90 per box it makes a very good deal. We don't seem to go through many tissues at home so a box can last us a long time but I do usually buy two at a time. When I buy tissues I always look out for those which claim to be super soft or contain a balm and will buy those over the standard tissues. I currently have two types of boots tissues on the go at home, one is the ultra soft brand and the other is the ultra balm tissue which I am reviewing today. The tissues ...  Read the complete review

Boots Ultra Balm Tissues: Soft and Strong Tissues for sensitive noses (349 words)

Boots make some own brand soft tissues called Ultra Balm. Sometimes these are on offer though at the moment they are £1.99 for a box of 90 tissues. These tissues are only available from Boots and they compare very well to another top brand, Kleenex. I like these tissues especially if I have a sore nose, a heavy cold or just generally need to keep on wiping or blowing my nose a lot due to hayfever. The tissues are coated in a nice protective balm called allantoin. I cannot detect the balm on the tissues themselves but I do notice than they feel different to normal tissues because they feel softer and I am sure I can feel a slight silky coating on ...  Read the complete review

Boots Ultra-Balm tissues Due to the flu season taking hold & with me having colds ever since November after my flujab (side effects taking hold definately) I've gone through a few boxes of tissues. I've tried Kleenex (normal, mansize & those little cube boxes), little rubbish pocket packs that were 3-ply but kept on breaking at 1st use (cheap brand), Tesco Value ones & kitchen & toilet roll! The reason I'm reviewing these is because all of the above have made my nose so sore & red! You know what it's like! You look like Rudolph & all of the skin has dried up & cracked! Then it's so sore even the softest ...  Read the complete review
