Several weeks ago, I developed a sore throat - quite suddenly, whilst at work. I announced to my secretary that I was just going to nip out to Boots for some lozenges and she suggested that I buy some Buttercup syrup instead. We have all woke up with that awful tickle in your throat and you just know it's the start of a nasty cold or cough and sore throat, Buttercup syrup is the best cough medicine for coughs colds and sore throats in my opinion. I've been a poorly Becca this last few days, with a horrendous sore throat and a nasty cough alongside it. I've been muddling along with a combinaton of cold tablets and strepsils and also a glucose syrup medicine but it wasn't until I started taking buttercup that it started to subside. Aah, September, the kids are back to school and students are moving all over the country. As things mix up and move around they warp and grow! And for once I'm not talking about head lice! No I'm on about the viruses, the colds and the bugs. All students will know about 'Freshers Flu' and the problems of Meningitis. Buttercup Syrup has been around for years, and is a very inexpensive cough remedy. I find it is best for light, tickly coughs. It can be used by young children or by adults, and is part of a range that includes a number of sweets aimed at soothing sore throats and curing coughs, blocked noses. I wuoldn't recommend this for anyone with a really bad cough or cold. It doesn't work much better than honey does - it coats the area that makes you cough, but that's about it.
