My poor daughter was suffering. She had not had a bowel movement in a week and was losing her appetite and suffering from painful stomach aches. At three years old this was not an easy thing to watch happening and I knew I had to do something to help her. In the past we had tackled mild constipation with an increase of wholemeal bread and broccoli in her diet and this had always worked, coupled with lots of fluids to drink. This time however, with her waning appetite and lack of desire to drink very much we had to resort to something off the supermarket shelf. I remembered buying something when she was a small baby to help her go and looked for this product ... Read the complete review

~~~~~~~~~~~ INTRODUCTION ~~~~~~~~~~~ The human body is a remarkable collection of fine-tuned parts that more often than not, manages to work without too many problems. For instance, after undergoing various biological processes which would take far too long (and a biology degree) to work out here, it is a generally accepted law of nature that what goes in one end, tends to eventually come out of the other. Occasionally however, something happens that upsets the delicate balance within this remarkable, organic, corporeal machine and causes the system to do some strange things. The transit from entrance to exit is interrupted, and rather ... Read the complete review
I'm pretty fortunate in that I've never suffered from constipation before. However, I had been feeling pretty run down so decided to take some multivitamins with iron in them. My mum warned me that iron can sometimes lead to constipation, but since i've never had trouble before, I thought I'd be fine. How run was I! I'd been taking the tablets for 2 weeks and had to stop as I was pretty constipated. It's never a fun topic to talk about and I didn't really want to have to go to my GP and discuss the ins and (lack of) outs of the whole situation. Firstly I tried those sachets you can get which you add water to and they are allegedly meant to taste like orange ... Read the complete review
People, in general, tend to take their digestive system for granted. Food goes in one end, disappears for a while, and then appears at the other end unrecognisable from the original product (except in the case of sweetcorn possibly!) So when this process does'nt go quite as smoothly and constipation occurs it can be quite an unexpected and unwanted problem. Also it may cause a degree of embarrassment as things to do with bowels and bowel movements tend to be avoided in conversation, the end of the digestive process has always been the butt (if you excuse the expression!) of much joking and hilarity and certainly not something to talk to your colleagues about in ... Constipation is not a subject that many people even mention, yet lots of us suffer from it from time to time. Mention it and you are likely to become the butt of jokes about Allbran and prunes! However, you don't need to mention it! Just buy yourself a bottle of Califig and the problem will literally disappear. Califig Syrup tastes of fruit so its not bad to take. It works very gently so you won't get stomach pains or other embarassing reactions. It's made with senna which is a natural laxative and figs. This isn't suitable for children under a year old. You can also get Califig Fruit and Fibre Bars which help keep you regular. ... Read the complete review
