My poor daughter was suffering. She had not had a bowel movement in a week and was losing her appetite and suffering from painful stomach aches. I'm pretty fortunate in that I've never suffered from constipation before. However, I had been feeling pretty run down so decided to take some multivitamins with iron in them. My mum warned me that iron can sometimes lead to constipation, but since i've never had trouble before, I thought I'd be fine. How run was I! People, in general, tend to take their digestive system for granted. Food goes in one end, disappears for a while, and then appears at the other end unrecognisable from the original product (except in the case of sweetcorn possibly!)
