Unfortunately I had re-current thrush through my pregnancy, lucky enough though I soon realised I could get Canesten on prescription from the doctors, otherwise it may have bankrupted me! I would highly recommend any women who is suffering from thrush to use this as the cream takes away the itching instantly and the pessary gets rif of it totally within 2-3 days! Just remember go to your doctors to get the prescription!!...more

For anyone who has ever had thrush you will know how itchy and bloody annoying it is. I have only had it once, recently when I was pregnant with my second child and at first I was not really sure what it was or if I had it or not but a quick visit to the nurse confirmed it for me and she was able to prescribe Canesten Combi medicine for me. I was lucky enough to get it free as I have a eternity exemption form at the moment but if you were to purchase it from Boots it would cost you £13.49 for a box of the one treatment pessary and cream. Thrush is a fungal infection and is commonly referred to as a yeast infection. Vaginal thrush is rather annoying and just ...  Read the complete review

I had never had a problem with thrush until I had my first daughter, they say that the yeast that causes thrush lives in everyones body and it is just the levels of it that cause a problem so in my case I presume that the pregnancy caused an imbalance of these bacteria and of course once you get it it keeps coming back. There are many symptoms of thrush, White discharge, Odourless dishcharge, Burning, Itching, Redness, Swelling Soreness The first time I got thrush I didn't know what it was, speaking to my knowledgeable Mother I was soon informed and off I went to the chemist to get something to help although I ...  Read the complete review

I had never experienced thrush before until I was pregnant for the second time with my daughter. After talking to my mom about my symptoms she told me she thought I had thrush. So off I went to the supermarket to see what I could find to relieve the soreness and itching! I found Canesten Combi, and picked it up as I had seen the adverts for it on the television and so thought it must be trustworthy. I was shocked at the price though £13.99!! I didn't realise these sorts of things could be so expensive. But as I was so desperate to get some relief I bought it. At home I read the instructions and it seemed easy enough. Firstly you have to insert the pessary into ...  Read the complete review

A breath of fresh air for pregnant ladies! (180 words)

Thrush is a yeast infection that both women and men can develop. It causes itchiness and uncomfort. It is really common in pregnant ladies. Being 30 weeks pregnant, and having developed this, I made an appointment at my doctors to be prescribed something, as I have a medical exemption certificate at the minute. My lovely doctor prescribed me Canesten Combi. You cannot buy this over the counter when you are pregnant. Usage: It comes in a pessary form and cream. The pessary has to be inserted inside you. Its best to do this of a night time, as when it dissolves, it leaves chalky residue. Do not be alarmed if this happens, as it is a sign it is ...  Read the complete review
