I have diabeties. When you have this it is vital that blood pressure is kept as low as possible as we have an increased risk of stroke anyway. Three years ago my GP decided that as I had not been able to reduce my blood pressure enough, to put me on medication to help bring it down. I was prescribed bendrofuizide, a water tablet, and cardura which as well as bringing blood pressure down helps with prostrate problems by increasing blood flow. I did not get any patient notes from the chemist, and the doctor said that apart from initial dizziness he did not know of any long term problems with these drugs.
