Everyone knows the smell of cinnamon. The botanical name for this tree is cinnamomum zeylanicum. It is also known as Laurus Cinnamomum. It grows in Ceylon, China, Brazil, Sumatra, India and other places. The best oil comes from trees that grow in sand in sheltered conditions, with lots of rain. The tree can reach 30 feet in height and has thick, scaley bark and leathery leaves. The root is distilled to make Camphor oil and its the dried inner bark of the shoots that gives cinnamon bark oil. It's fragrant and sweet but very expensive because it takes a huge amount of bark to yield just a few mils of oil. USES +++++ ...
