Hi Can anyone give me any advice.
I am currently suffering from really bad panic attacks feel like i am going mad. I havent had them for a long time and i feel really scared. At the moment i take 20 mg prozac which ive been on for 4 years my doctor has reccommended i take ciprimal and come off the prozac. Is this going make me feel worse are the side effects bad? Also I was given beta blockers when i take them they make me have even worse panic attacks.
Thanks Ruth

Hi,

I don't know about the side effects of medication for panic attacks. The only cure I know of that works is simply to force yourself to sit through a few of them. You will hate it - your body will be ready for flight etc....but hang in there. If you sit through enough of them, they get less and less in intensity and eventually disappear altogether. All you are doing is training your body to deal with the scarey situation so it is not so scarey next time. Took about 3 months for me to get rid of panic attacks.

Hope this helps

Good advice below - speak to your doctor again and ask them to explain all about the drug, they should really do that anyway without you asking for it to be done.

Discuss this with your doctor, if you can't talk to him then go see another one. But listen to their advice and then make the decision yourself. Also suggest you do a google search for the medication and read anything you can about it.
