Having recently suffered from severe toothache and being paranoid about visiting a Dentist, I sought a remedy I recalled from childhood. I saw various concoctions claiming to be the miracle cure, but I reverted back to what I consider to be the best and more importantly, natural remedy. Clove oil is derived from the clove plant and is a natural analgesic and antiseptic. Eugenol is the active ingredient in clove oil and the reason for its healing properties. The first step involves rinsing out your mouth with either warm water or mouthwash so that you dissipate any food remnants, then brush your teeth. After that I apply a few drops of clove oil to ... Over the years I've heard of Clove Oil and that it can be helpful for toothache but thankfully have never had a need to try it out it. Unfortunately during the most romantic weekend of the year my partner fell victim to a nasty absess in his mouth and in desperation I legged it to the chemist to try and find something to relieve his pain. Other than the usual over the counter tablets the only thing the chemist could recommend was the above mentioned Clove Oil, I was a little sceptical but having no other choice I bought a bottle which cost me a little over £2. Packaging - The oil is sold in small glass bottles with child proof lids - very ... Read the complete review

The only kind of Clove Oil that should be used in aromatherapy is clove bud oil. This oil is extracted by steam distillation from the clove tree (myrtaceae). The leaves of this tree are green ans shiney and its an evergreen. The flowers buds are long and red. Only the buds are used and the resulting oil is apale yellowy colour with a sweet, spicey aroma. Uses: ++++++ Antiseptic, stimulating, mouthwash, gargle, toothache, mosquito repellant, muscle relaxant. How to use: +++++++++++ Rub a small amount onto gums to treat toothache. (do not use as a substitute for a ... Read the complete review

After suffering from toothache for a couple of weeks and trying every method to try and relieve the pain such as sensitive toothpaste, pain killers, seeing the dentist and waiting for an emergency appointment, a friend recommended I try Clove Oil and it had worked wonders for them when they had a persisting dental problem. I went off to my nearest Boots and purchased a small bottle for £2.57. My first opinion on this product was that it was very small but after using it once, I realised you wouldn't need a big bottle as you only need a couple of drops at a time. The bottle has a small nozzle at the end which you cover with a cotton bud to ease ... Read the complete review

Clove Oil is produced out of the dried flower buds of the clove tree and its Latin name is Eugenia Caryophyllata Thun. A bit of mouthful for one who is suffering from toothache this very minute. The main component of Clove Oil is Eugenol. The Oil has an anti-bacterial, antiseptic and analgetic effect. When I think of Clove Oil, I automatically think of the dentist as this is what they used but rather more concentrated to deaden the pain of toothache. Now a couple of years ago, I moved to a dentist who has broken two of my teeth and pulled one of them out without an anesthetic and consequently I have toothache quite a lot as part of the tooth is still ...
