Advantages: numbs, kills pain

Disadvantages: dilute it

Clove Oil is produced out of the dried flower buds of the clove tree and its Latin name is Eugenia Caryophyllata Thun. A bit of mouthful for one who is suffering from toothache this very minute.

The main component of Clove Oil is Eugenol. The Oil has an anti-bacterial, antiseptic and analgetic effect.

When I think of Clove Oil, I automatically think of the dentist as this is what they used but rather more concentrated to deaden the pain of toothache. Now a couple of years ago, I moved to a dentist who has broken two of my teeth and pulled one of them out without an anesthetic and consequently I have toothache quite a lot as part of the tooth is still embedded. By putting a bit of Clove Oil onto the tooth directly it works instantly and deadens the pain. I always carry a little bottle of this around that I bought from Boots for around £2. I have found a new dentist and awaiting for an appointment. I have been to the chemist and bought special stuff that have cost me a fortune, but it does not work and it costs a lot.

It is also good for mouth ulcers and anything that is oral but do not use so much of it as a little really does go a long way.

Also when you think of Clove Oil, it brings to mind warm and spicey and many a time shops use this in pot pourri around christmas or you can buy the oils for an oil burner, but you can also buy it a lot cheaper at retail outlets and make sure that you well water it down. I have my oil burner on at the moment and put in a couple of drops in a bowl of water and the room has scented up quite quickly. This is a really nice smell and makes me think of Christmas.

It is supposed to help and heal the symptons of Athletes Foot, but if you do try to use it for this make sure that you really water it down as it could sting if you have any cuts.

It does have m any medicinal properties as well as antiviral and analgesic and anti-inflammatory. It definatley works as an antiseptic as I put t
his on my tooth about 10 minutes ago and it has gone away.

It is also used in a variety of antiseptic tablets that you can buy over the counter at most shops and chemists.

Another one of its medicinal elements is that it can be used for stomach upsets and bloating. However if you decided to try this, then speak to a pharmacist first. This has been used for hundreds of years.

Again as it is reknowned for its anti septic properties, if you get stung in the summer, by dabbing a bit directly onto the skin, it can stop infection happening. It certainly numbers up really quickly.

Safety Precautions:
Avoid in pregnancy.
Possible irritant to sensitive skin.
Do not use on children under age 5.
Always dilute it.
Do not use a lot of it in one go.

Herbs are natures gift to us, so it only polite to take a bit of time and see whether or not they work. To be honest I would rather try herbal/aromatherapy any day before going down to the doctors and getting filled up with chemicals.

A small 10ml bottle is around £2.50 and you can buy it from chemists.
