Advantages: they work, pain relief is great

Disadvantages: few side effects, not too bad though cos I was in bed

As a rule I don't often find myself using any form of medication purely because I don't like taking things, however during this flu that I have had, I have found my body aching all over, me head, my neck, my back, my arms and my legs, aswell as my throat and you name it, I ache there, its horrible. In addition to this I also have a kidney infection which isn't helping a great deal either. I have never been so bad in my entire life, in fact have felt lifeless and have been bed-ridden for the past day, luckily I think I am getting over it now and I am up, not quite about yet, but I think the worst is over.

Co-codamol are a tablet that contain Paracetamol and also Codeine Phosphate. They can be of several strengths, the ones that I currently have are 8mg Codeine Phosphate and 500mg Paracetamol. This is the start off stength however they are very strong. This particular strength are available to purchase over the counter however the stronger tablets are only available on prescription only.

Now, not taking tablets as a rule, not even paracetamol for a headache because I am stubborn, on this occasion I have felt the need because I have been in so much pain, to just touch my skin has hurt so tablets have been the only thing that could possibly help me.

I first took the Co-Codamol Friday evening and within twenty minute I felt that all my aches had eased a little and did not have any side effects at all, as these tablets can possibly give you side effects. However when I stood up I felt a little dizzy and a little away with the fairys to say the least, not too much and it wasn't a horrible feeling as such, I could just tell that this was going to be a regular occurance whenever I decided to take these tablets.

However I went to bed and I slept brilliant, right through to the next morning, not feeling any better in the morning but a little better at the thought that they had also aided a good night sleep. Thorughout Saturday afternoon I continued to take them, again they took my pain, away but left me feeling sleepy and drowsy. I wasn't able to do anything or go anywhere so that didn't really bother me and also I took two twenty minutes before I went to bed and they once again aided me with a great night sleep.

Being over the worse now I am going to leave these and continue with normal paracetamol as you never know when these might come in handy. They definitely do the business, however I wouldn't recommend using them if you are driving or anything, you do lose a lack of concentration and they sent me int my own little world which was great, but I wouldn't use them on a regular basis. The have helped a lot, gave me the opportunity to feel comfortable, tooks all my aches away for a couple of hours and enabled me to have a good nights sleep.
