Health issues occupies my thoughts like a repugnant scent of sheep dung in-between the grooves of my walking boots after a rampant gallivant in the woolly candy-floss fields. One of my earlier memories was being aware of a damaged nerve ending on the end of my index finger - it plagued me, I went around spontaneously pointing trying to self medicate a remedy - flicking really fast didn't help either - so you can imagine contracting a cold viral is pretty much curtains for me. 08.58 am on Sunday 17th April 2011 was one of those days. My head seemed alien like; as if been pumped up with mucus in the night. My weighty, crusty skull cricked my fragile neck and I ... Read the complete review

Whenever I've had a bad cold, this is probably one of the first medicines that I tend to grab and take. Now that might seem a little strange grabbing what essentially is an allergy symptoms relief remedy to ease the symptoms of a cold, but for me it seems to work perfectly. Often when I've had a cold, I get the runny nose problem as well where you get that bunged up feeling and that constant (without being too graphic!!) dribble of whatever from your nostrils that just doesn't seem to stop. Taking some Ibuprofen or Lemsip will often alleviate any aches and pains in my body, but trying to live and work with the runny nose bit is a real pain. Most of the ... Read the complete review

Just to let you know, this product has been re-packaged and has changed its name slightly to- Contac, they have dropped the 400. I first bought these tablets for my other half during one of this severe bouts of "Man Flu"(and we all know how bad that is, don't we?) on recommendation from my sister. I was at the point where I needed something to help him or I was possibly going to strangle him. Guess what?- they really actually helped, infact they helped so much, even he had to admit it and he doesn't like admitting anything helps, as that puts his weekend in bed at deaths door in jeopardy. What are they ... Read the complete review

These used to be what I took whenever I had a cold, just because they totally dried it up and stopped my nose dripping like a tap. Then they changed the formula. Basically they took out the one ingredient that made any difference, belladonna alkaloids and replaced it with, wel, nothing. I've tried the new formula and it makes not a jot of difference at all. It annoys me that they take out an effective ingredient from OTC medication because there are certain people who an't/shouldn't use it (in this instance the ingredient is dangerous to people with impaired kidney function) Why not just print a warning? I've ... Read the complete review

I'm not a great lover of pumping my body with chemicals but there are times (especially when you have children) when you just haven't got time to be ill. When I get a cold that leaves my nose streaming, I have to reach for the Contac 400's. Whilst they make you feel as though you are on a different planet (there are those that would say I'm always on a different planet?!), they do dry up the cold so that at least you can function relatively normally, until you are over the worst. Each capsule lasts for 12 hours so in theory you take 2 per day. However, I find that as long as I function normally during the day then I can dispense with the night time ...
