Advantages: You only have to take two a day.

Disadvantages: They only help, they don't cure.

Just to let you know, this product has been re-packaged and has changed its name slightly to- Contac, they have dropped the 400.

I first bought these tablets for my other half during one of this severe bouts of "Man Flu"(and we all know how bad that is, don't we?) on recommendation from my sister. I was at the point where I needed something to help him or I was possibly going to strangle him.

Guess what?- they really actually helped, infact they helped so much, even he had to admit it and he doesn't like admitting anything helps, as that puts his weekend in bed at deaths door in jeopardy.

What are they for?-

Contac- 12 hour relief, non drowsy- fast congestion relief from:
Colds, Flu, Allergy.
The box states- 6 prolonged release capsules, maximum strength.
Provides up to 12 hours congestion relief from cold, flu and allergy symptoms.
Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before taking this medicine.

How to take-

For oral use- take one capsule in the morning and another at bedtime.
For Adults and Children aged 12 years and over.
Not for Children under 12 years.
Do not chew or crush the capsule contents as this will interfere with the 12 hour action of Contac.

Warnings-

Do not take with other products for the relief of colds, congestion or hay fever.
Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if-
You are taking prescribed medicines or are pregnant or breast feeding.
Or if symptoms persist.

Ingredients-

Each capsule contains Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 120 mg.
Also contains sucrose- see leaflet for further information.

The box has changed in that the capsules pictured are now pink in colour, aswell as being just Contac not 400.

How did we find they helped?

We were both suprised at how much they did actually help, my other half smokes so he suffers badly with congestion whilst in the grip of Man Flu and they did give him considerable relief.
The fact you only take two in 24 hours is great because you dont have to keep popping pills and its quite easy to remember to take two even for my forgetful man.
Taken alongside plenty of water, Hot pineapple with honey and lemon and a good throat lozenge and of course bed rest we really do find they cut Man Flu's duration by about half, nothing actually gets rid of it, but these help alot. Depending how quickly you take them after first symptoms appear you may get away with one box, but quite often you may have to start a second box(each box contains 3 days supply).
I always have a box in the cupboard just in case.
I have taken them for Allergies and they definitely gave me some relief.

Now this is the tricky bit, I can't get over the price difference from shop to shop- Tesco is the cheapest approx £1.44
Sainsburys approx £3.36
Boots- wait for it- approx £3.42
I would Love to know why there is such a difference in price but if your going to give them a try, please shop around.
