Having woken up a few days ago with a cold, sore throat and earache I wasn't impressed - especially as I had gone to bed feeling fine with no hint whatsoever about my oncoming cold. As I normally have several remedies in my bathroom cupboard to try and counteract the ill effects of being..well ill I went into the bathroom to see what I could have. Though I had the obligatory paracetamol and Ibuprofen there was nothing to soothe my throat (which I was positive I had some Strepsils but hubby admitted taking them all a few weeks previous - no doubt to fight off a case of man flu that was threatening his well being). To cut a long story short I popped into my ... Read the complete review

Covonia is now my go to cough and cold medicine. I think it tastes absolutely vile but it seems to do the trick. I only discovered the cough lozenges last time I had the cold as previously I thought they just did the liquid medicine. I bought a pack not really sure what I was expecting as a lot of medicine brands also do cough lozenges and to be frank most of them are pretty rubbish when it comes to actually doing anything to help. In fact most of them now just taste like sweets and do as much use when it comes to soothing coughs and sore throats. I do think these are different. For one they are vile so I doubt most people would use them unless they worked. I ... Read the complete review

Just before Christmas I got the dreaded winter cold, the one that's bad enough that you start thinking is this flu but you still have to carry on with day to day life so I was desperate to find something to help. One of the things that was driving me mad was the cough as I kept waking the children through the night. I had a rare trip into town and decided to look in Savers as didn't want to spend loads on something that may not work, along with other things I bought I picked up some Covonia Cough Lozenges. The lozenges were available in two flavours, Original and Berry Blast and were £1 for a 30g box. The box in small enough to carry in your handbag or tuck ... Read the complete review

Well, it's that time of year again when the changeable weather brings on coughs and colds galore. I thought I'd escaped the worst of it after three of my children and my partner had pretty bad colds last week (obviously, Mark's being so much worse than anyone elses!), but then a couple of days ago I woke up with *that* tickle in the back of my throat which I knew from experience would quickly turn to soreness. With an eight week old baby to care for (as well as the rest of my growing brood) I wanted to nip whatever was coming in the bud. Normally I'd simply neck as many tablets and potions as I needed to in order to feel better, but the problem this time is ... Read the complete review

Just before Christmas I had a really bad chest infection which resulted in me having the most annoying and irritating cough known to man. I was in agony from it, I wasn't sleeping and even my asthma inhalers weren't touching it so I was in a pretty bad way. I tried every cough medicine I could, and nothing worked so when I saw these in the supermarket on one of my shopping trips, I thought they would be worth a try for £1.50, I was so desperate I was at the point of trying anything! These Covonia lozenges are a relatively new product, only being available from this winter, and are available in both Berry Blast and Original flavours. I will be reviewing the ...
