Reliable cough mixture.

This tastes so bad it has to do you good! In all seriousness though this 'couugh bottle' does seem to help. Whenever I get a chesty cough I reach for this mixture. It certainly has a distinctive taste that does make you wince a bit but the effect is worth the trouble.

The liquid is a treacly brown mixture with a medicated, mentholy smell and taste. Comes in an old fashioned style brown glass bottle with even the name impressed on the glass, very traditional!

Comes in a enlarging range of products, sold in 150ml and 300ml bottles. The larger retails at around £4.60 and the smaller £2.50, available at chemists and supermarkets. Ingredients include menthol to soothe, squill tincture and liquorice liquid extract to help remove phlegm, these will help account for the taste.

It is recommended that an adult takes two 5ml spoonfuls around every four hours.

It seems to work for me and is a handy item to have at home especially in the Autumn and Winter months when those troublesome coughs are at their peak.
