I've been suffering for the past week with a cold and cough and have been feeling really sorry for myself. Like everybody I hate this time of year when these illnesses hit and for some reason they always seem to hit when you have a few days off work. I especially hate coughs as they are annoying, you can't control them and they keep you awake at night. I've tried a range of cough medicines over the years and find that Covonia is the best for me as it soothes my throat and chest and gives me a few minutes peace so I can relax.

Covonia comes in a brown bottle and is available from supermarkets, boots, superdrug and pharmacies. The sizes of the bottle vary from 100ml - 300ml costing around £2.50 - £6. I usually buy 150ml bottle for £3 and my cough is usually gone by the time I've finished the bottle.

There are clear instructions written on the back which you should always read before taking the medicine. Covonia is suitable for adults, the elderly and children over 12. You can take 1-2 5ml spoonfuls every 4 hours and children between 5-12 can take 1 5ml spoonful every 4 hours but it is not suitable for children under the age of 5.

The taste of covonia is horrible, it's very strong but I do feel that if it tastes horrible then it must be doing something to make you feel better. I find that if I'm having a coughing fit then I'll take the medicine and it will really calm my cough down and don't notice myself coughing for a few hours afterwards.

I think covonia is a good medicine, I'm feeling much better now than I did a few days ago and thanks to covonia it's helped soothe my throat to stop my coughing at night so at least I've been sleeping well.
