Cypress

Newest Review: ... (Buy some carrier oil at the same time as you will need it.) Personally, I do use Cypress oil a lot in treatments, ... more

... especially for facial massage (mixed with grape seed oil as a carrier.) Unfortunately I don't use it on myself because it tends to irritate my airways (I'm asthmatic) after a while (the reaction isn't immediate). This may be a reaction peculiar to myself bit if you do suffer from asthma try this oil out before you massage it into your skin. ...more

Premium Review Cypress: One little bottle works like magic! (560 words)
by - written on 21/09/01 (Very useful, 89 readings)
Rating:

Cypress has a sharp and quite spicey aroma. The latin name of this plant is Cupressus Sempervirens. The oil is steam distilled from the needles of this tree. It is green or yellowish in colour and although it can be sourced in many different countries I prefer to buy the Spanish variety as it seems better quality. Physical benefits: ++++++++++++++++++ Acne Arthritis Asthma Bleeding gums Broken capilliaries Bruises Cellulite Cough Excessive perspiration Insect repellant Menopause Nose bleeds PMS Sinusitis Sore throat Varicous veins It also has many more uses and is one oil ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

Cypress oil has a fresh, even spicy aroma and which is a useful oil when treating respiratory problems. It is anti spasmodic an astringent which makes it valuable for easing coughs, asthma, sore throats or bronchitis. Indicated for bruising, inflamed joints or varicose veins. When used in beauty treatments, it is most effective on greasy skin as it has astringent properties. Steam face over a bowl of hot water with a few drops added to combat oiliness. An unusual ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

I started to get varicose veins during and after giving birth to my child, with the help of this they do not ache but it doesn’t prevent it from ‘growing’. It’s a good one to stop coughing fits if you put a couple of drops onto the bedding ( a bit like eucalyptus). It’s also great for menstrual and menopausal problems but I do find that eucalyptus is less expensive and works better. ...  Read the complete review
