No relief for me (Deep Relief Ibuprofen Gel)

A serious back injury, and long-term problems as a result of, mean I am supposed to take high strength Ibuprofen tablets several times a day. I'm not keen on taking these tablets as I'm aware of how bad they are for the stomach so I decided to give the gel a try.

I bought a 50g tube for about £4.50 from Boots, this was a few months ago so the price may have changed since. The product contains a percentage of ibuprofen and levomenthol which should work to decrease inflammation and numb the area respectively.

The gel is clear and didn't really smell of much, it applied easily and absorbed quite quickly but was a touch sticky where it had been. I applied a thin covering to my back and waited for some marvellous results.

I did in fact wait for quite some time expecting some relief from this gel and found I didn't get any. I had no decrease in pain or numbing of the area at all. In fact if it wasn't for the slightly sticky sensation I could easily have believed I hadn't actually applied any.

Once the gel is on if you rub the area it flakes off and when you come to wash it off it goes gloopy (is that a real word?) temporarily until it's gone.

I can honestly say this was a complete waste of money for me. I felt no changes whatsoever, good or bad, when wearing the gel. I don't know if this is because my problems are beyond the capability of this product but I can't recommend it.
