Advantages: Easy to use and versatile

Disadvantages: The smell!

I first purchased Dettol around six months ago after seeing it on offer in Tesco.

Dettol is a thick caramel coloured liquid disinfectant.

I use Dettol to clean my sink down. Usually there's bits of Lush cleanser in there so I use Dettol to clean it. I use the Dettol on a cloth (tipping the bottle upside down a few times on the cloth) then I add a few drops of water and I use the cloth to wipe the sink down. Dettol helps to kill germs and bacteria, leaving my sink clean and shiny. The smell takes a bit of getting used to. It reminds me of the smell you get in the back room of a tattoo shop! Very clean smelling. I use Dettol in the same way to clean the bath and the taps.

I dilute Dettol to scrub the bathroom floor, especially if it is dirty with drops of hair dye on it. I simply add two capfuls to a bucket of water and use the mixture to clean the floor. Dettol is a great cleaning agent and it tackles dirt and grease. You can also use it for first aid. I have never used it for first aid but my boyfriend added a capful to his bath once when he was suffering from nettle stings. Apparently it worked, although I couldn't stand the smell so I had to leave the bathroom.

Dettol lasts ages too as you only need a VERY small amount of it at a time.

I would recommend Dettol. It's a versatile cleaning agent in a bottle.

Summary: Trust Dettol
