Advantages: Value for money, comes in range of sizes, works quickly to banish itching!

Disadvantages: As with anything you may be unfortunate enough to experience side effects.

My mum suffers from eczema and unfortunately I have taken after her as the condition affects me too, thankfully I only get it occasionally when small patches crop up, usually on my elbows and legs. However as all other sufferers will be very aware of, it itches like mad and it is usually impossible to leave it alone and not give in to the temptation to scratch, usually making it even more sore in the process. A family friend and fellow sufferer recommended E45 Itch Relief Cream after she'd had great success with it, my mum who gets it far worse than me was at the end of her tether and willing to try anything so she went out and bought a tube.

We've tried various creams in the past and nothing had really worked so we weren't expecting much from this to be honest, however we are happy to say that we have indeed been proven wrong! This cream brings such relief, calming itchy skin quickly and also acting to moisturise dry areas. As stated by E45's own website: "E45 Itch Relief Cream treats itchy, irritated skin caused by eczema, dermatitis, pruritus and other dry skin conditions. Formulated with lauromacrogols, an anti-itch ingredient, and urea, a moisturiser found naturally in the skin, it moisturises affected areas to bring relief. Treats and soothes the itching caused by eczema, dermatitis, pruritus and other dry scaling skin conditions. Available in 50g, 100g and 500g."

All I can comment is that I'm so thankful for them anti-itch lauromacrogols! Once applied to my eczema I began to notice a cooling, calming effect almost immediately, I felt such a sense of "ahhhh", oh the relief! I now use this cream regularly to keep my eczema at bay and to stop that horrid sore itchyness in its tracks - I've noticed that since I started using it my eczema prone patches of skin have gotten a lot softer and feel really hydrated; compared to before when my skin used to sometimes crack in places due to dryness. My mum has also recieved similar success with this cream and her eczema is no way near as bad as it used to be, her skin is in much softer condition and the itching that accompanies the condition has diminished a lot too; she now finds her eczema so much easier to manage.

E45 Itch Relief Cream is now a staple in our bathroom cabinet as we both can't be without it, I've found that eczema can flare up suddenly and so it is always handy to have a tube around in order to releave the symptoms as soon as they begin. The 50g tube can usually be bought for around the £2-£3 mark which I think is a very good price considering how well it works. The cream shouldn't be used on infected, weeping or broken skin and as with anything there are possible side effects such as flushing of the skin and even itching - which I think is a bit ironic considering the cream is marketed as itch relief! However both myself and my mum haven't experienced any adverse effects whatsoever. Overall a smashing product that works quickly and effectively to relief the symptoms of eczema and other pesky skin conditions, 5 stars from me.
