Eucalyptus is another oil that's great for the beginner to start experimenting with - it's one of the least expensive; it has a wide variety of uses and, perhaps surprisingly, given its strong scent, it's fairly non-irritating. Eucalyptus will be a familiar scent to many: it's widely used in many proprietary decongestants, including Olbas Oil. In the home it can be used in the same way - splash a few drops on your pillow case before you go to sleep to get rid of that bunged up feeling if you have a cold or use it in a steam inhalation for colds and catarrh. Generally it can be used in much the same way as t-tree oil; although a ... Read the complete review

Eucalyptus Essential Oil is not just one oil, but the name of a group of three eucalyptus oils. Each one is slightly different and you need to know about those slight variations before you make your choice. Eucalyptus, Blue Gum ++++++++++++++++++++ This variety is from the family Myrtaceae, just like the other two. It is a tall evergreen tree with bluish-green oval leaves (hence its name.) The flowers of this tree are long, narrow and yellowish. The bark is pale grey and often.inmature trees, covered in fine white powder. This tree is native to Tasmania and Australia but most of the essential oil available comes from specially ... Read the complete review

I couldn`t be without this oil. The minute there`s a stuffed up nose in the house, out it comes, sprinkled on a tissue...the loads of sniffing on it! It is so strong it gets through the worst blocked nose & clears it, even though it`s only temporary...but just keep sniffing. It can be put on the pillow too. And a drop added to the bath is good. Or in a steam inhalation. As it`s so strong just one drop at a time is all that should be used. It is a strong anti-viral & anti-bacterial, when used to inhale, it can actually kill off the invading germs. It also aids bringing down a high temperature, a drop on a cool damp cloth placed on the ... Read the complete review

My nan always srears by a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a tissue or handkerchief when she has a cold - it has a powerful decongestant action that works twice as wekk as most cold relief medications, at half the price. I always use it when I have a cold, or when my sinuses are a bit stuffed up. If I'm going out, I just put a couple of drops on a tissue, but if I'm at home, I sometimes place a drop around my nose, for longer lasting relief. As one of the tallest trees in the world, eucalyptus can reach 300 feet in height, and there are over 300 varieties of it. One use that I only recently discovered is to repel mosquitoes and other flying ... Read the complete review

This is a must-have oil! It has a distinctive, stimulating smell that clears the head and gives relief to hayfever, coughs and colds by putting your head under the towel and breathing in the fumes. (Make sure there is hot water in the bowl obviously) I used this oil whenever my baby has a cough, I put a couple of drops onto a pillow case – not directly under her nose – and when she falls, rest assured that she’ll have a peaceful nights sleep. It’s great for a steaming bath, in the burner or even as a massage if you’re feeling under the weather. This is a must have oil and no home should be without ... Read the complete review
