Advantages: cheap, reduces itching, tube lasts a long time

Disadvantages: doesn't stop itching completely and effects don't last long

I usually have a tube of this kicking around for patches of contact dermatitis I get from washing up liquid or from exposing my hands to the sun. I get very itchy scaly patches across my fingers and they itch and burn like mad.

I buy mine from Boots for about £3.50 and only usually buy the small tube as it lasts ages. You apply to the itchy patches and rub in lightly (not scratch for blessed relief while applying!) then the cream gets to work.

It does indeed reduce itching but I wouldn't say it stops it altogether, and it depends on the cause of the itching in my opinion. It's useless for hives but on my contact dermatitis it seems to be sufficient.

It smells odd, like chemicals which I suppose is exactly what it is, and the texture is just your average cream. The effects only seem to last for a short time too, I get less itching for about an hour then it starts to creep back to the previous level.

It's a reasonable product, reduces itching and doesn't cost much but it's far from a miracle cream.

Summary: Not bad but could be more effective
