Advantages: Quick and easy
Disadvantages: Runny
4 days after school started and my daughter comes home with nits. I have absolutely no idea why some parents think that it's fine to send their children to school without checking them, and spreading the nasty little blighters around (the nits that is, not the kids).
After removing four with a lice comb I decided to buy some of this solution to make sure none had been mssed. And also to kill off an eggs.
I have used other lotions before, but they have needed to be left on the hair overnight or for at least 8 hours, but as it was a Monday I didn't want to be rushing around in the morning getting showers, mornings are fraught enough as it is.
Full Marks Solution is a 10 minute treatment, which doesn't use traditional pesticides but still gets rid of the eggs.
It's simple enough to use, the solution is a liquid the same viscosity as water, which needs to be spread onto the hair and massaged into every hair and onto the scalp. The only tricky thing is keeping it off the face because it is so runny.
Then it needs to be left for 10 minutes, or longer if you want, and when the time is up you need to comb through the hair with the comb provided.
It's a quick and easy task, the solution is low odour, unlike the overnight ones which stink of chemicals. It takes a bit of washing out, because it has an oily texture, so you need to shampoo a couple of times before it's all gone, but it's worth it for peace of mind.
I buy the 2 treatment pack, even though it's for 3, but my daughter has fine, thin hair, and my son doesn't have much hair at all, so all three of us used it with some to spare.
At our local chemist the 2 treatment bottle (100ml) cast £6.10, so it's not cheap, but I'd rather be sure any eggs were killed off.

- 10/09/09 Hiya - did this work for your kids - did it get rid of the lice? Many years ago (who'd believe my daughter's now 18 - not me!) we had a running battle with these little critters (we even named them at one point whilst squashing) and I found that none of the solutions worked, and the only thing that worked for me was daily combing with a high quality metal nit comb.
Of course, my daughter had long hair, not very short, so perhaps you found different? |
