When I was pregnant for the first time I had suffered a lot due to heart burn , gastric reflux and vomiting in the first half of the pregnancy. I was unable to eat due to severe heart burn and stomach upset and as a result I became constipated badly . It was the pain full period of my life I was counting days . I was afraid of every editable things and their smells as these were causing me vomiting and after eating heart burn. I tried loads of things but no results . I told my sister abroad the condition she suggested me Gaviscon as a cure of heartburn. Then I tried first time and it did work and effective against the severe heart burn. Gaviscon became a life saver for me when I was pregnant, and its still regularly used now. Now I don't really want to bore you with the history of my digestive tract, but when I became pregnant with my first child I began to suffer from heartburn. Of course being pregnant you cannot take ordinary antacids such as Rennie, so my doctor prescribed Gaviscon. Which I ended up drinking by the bottle and forgetting about spooning it out. Gaviscon is a thick liquid which seemed to calm my heartburn almost immediately. The original comes in aniseed flavour, which the first time I tried it, I thought, 'ewww'. After the second or third time it doesn't ... Read the complete review

I have Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) which can be very painful. When I first had symptoms, before I knew what it was, I thought I was having a heart attack - the pain was so intense! I was also sick and couldn't get comfortable. Thankfully it was diagnosed and - apart from some very unpleasant investigations involving cameras down the throat - things started to improve. Initially I was on a prescription drug called Zoton which worked well at keeping things under control - but my doctor and I were both keen that I should not have to be on prescription drugs for ever. This is where Gaviscon came in. I soon found that it I could reduce the Zoton and instead take ... Read the complete review

Gaviscon is a medicine designed to bring relief from indigestion and heartburn. Luckily, I don't often get indigestion, but we all know that it can be an incredibly uncomfortable experience. I have found Gaviscon extremely effective as it seems to sooth the pain almost instantly. It does this with its combination of active ingredients alginic acid and bicarbonate, which create a barrier that prevents stomach acid from refluxing back up into the esophagus - nice!. The bottle size I generally buy is the 300ml version, which comes in Aniseed or Peppermint flavours, costing £5 from Tesco. I find the taste of both varieties to be quite pleasant, and ... Gavison is a soothing liquid that relieves heartburn (heartburn is when the stomach acid comes back up the oesophagus and burns it). and stopping gastric acid reflux (which is what causes the heart burn) after meals. It is called a "refux suppressant". Because of these effects it can be helpful for people who have hiatus hernias too. The bottle I have in the house is the 300ml aniseed flavour, it also comes in peppermint I believe. It costs 5.99 in Boots. It is a glass bottle 15cm high including the cap, and 6cm wide. It is also reasonably heavy. The cap is just a latge white screw top. On the bottle there is a green/blue large sticker ... Read the complete review
